UTXMP FAQ

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Would you believe I actually thought of a good question for FMI?

Will we be able to warp around deploy points like the ONS nodes? That would help a hell of a lot, esp. on huge-ass maps.

Negative! We had a discussion about this before and it wouldnt be a good idea. How can we hack deploy points if all you had to do was just teleport all over the place to defend those deploy points?

1). You can't attack ONS nodes under attack. Similarly you would not be able to warp to a deploy being hacked.

2). Warping might place you in the spawn queue. In that case, having to wait 17 seconds to defend a deploy that gets hacked in < 8 seconds won't help you a whit.

Those are two options to keep it balanced. Besides, how would you KNOW if a deploy was being hacked unless you were nearby?

I understand your point worf. But i feel to be able to teleport from one deploy to another would disrupt the flow of the game. Imagine defending your node in Garden, then to run over to your deploy to be right in the front of your enemies base is just too much, which is why certain maps have teleporters already to get you through certain distances on a map.

What youve said has been brought up aswell about not being able to teleport to a deploy being hacked. Im the type of player that likes to control all deploy points and energy sources, and this would just make it easy for players to obtain all those points like myself =) If i heard that an energy was taken and i look on the map and just hop onto a deploy to teleport closest to that deploy/energy, then the challenge to just get there on foot wouldnt be there.

IMO, it would disrupt the flow of the game. In the beginning when the idea came up, I liked it. But later on, I felt it would be better to just leave it alone :)

Well if the flow of the game is me walking 27 miles to find someone to shoot at, I don't mind a disruption at all :D

But as ever, I will abide by the will of the monkey.

Oo, I've got one. Is behindviewtoggle still going to work, and can it still be used to cancel out the flash from concussion jumping? The last official XMP patch was supposed to remove that exploit but never did.

OMF good question and I'm very surprised there has been no statement on this. Hello?

Btw - it's togglebehindview, and it can be used for lots of things, not just CG jumps. For example, if you want eyes in the back of your head, play with it enabled... Now nobody can sneak up on you. You should always play with it enabled, but it's tricky!

BUMP!

Will you still be able to crash the raptor into that corner outside wall of the base in Garden and eject and get stuck in there with an arti, thereby leaving your team or opposing team without a raptor/arti for the whole 60-minute game? I hope someone knows all the map bugs!

In that case you may as well just kill yourself, and respawn there. Not only would you get all your health back, but you also don't need to start from a deploy ;)

Hey cool, as of now, the way to port maps is just done by exporting a terrain map, exporting terrain layers (for textures) and then copy over all the static meshs+bsp+lighting. It's a bit tricky and time consuming when you start, but after that it gets easy. I'll try to bug air and ask him to write up a detailed description how he ports them. :)
Yeah, that would be great! :) Not much text, just enough to avoid the most common pitfalls!
