Ok, here's part 9, as promised. THis 'll probably be the last part in one or two weeks. Enjoy.
it's a bit rushed, but I felt like doing it.
Part 9: Infiltration…
*********************
Outpost Aragon. The only thing which separated the “known” Naliworld and the forbidden area. 95 Skaarj warriors were stationed at this impressive looking outpost. All of them were great fighters.
Commander R’Garo had finished his tour of the base and walked up to assistant-lieutenant G’Ury.
“As-lt, how are we today”?
The lt immediately turned around, and saluted his superior officer.
“Mighty fine, sir”, he grinned, “ We had this stupid group of Nali today, they were coming to close to the outpost. Almost trespassing. So we killed them”
“With the standard guns?”, the commander said with a wicked smile on his face, eyes glowing red as never before.
“Nah, with the trusty blades of course, the old fashioned way he-he!” The younger as-lt obviously had a soft spot when it came to slaughtering Nali.
“Yes indeed, that’s the way to teach them little Lgur’yns (bastards).
“Anything else?”
“No sir, no activity around the outpost at all.”
The commander looked out the “window” and studied the sky.
“No ships, no incoming cargo vessels, nothing?”
“Well, sir, if so, you should have been notified by now, right?”
“Oh yes, where’s my head?”, the commander smirked,” a looooooong day today, as-lt, you understand.”
The young as-lt smiled.
“Sure I do sir.”
Commander R’garo left the watchtower and walked up to his quarters. He opened the door and enjoyed the sweet smell of lizard-breath. He fell down in his rusty, metallic chair and drank a red rum.
“Damn, I hate it here, I want to return to Bouvaja.. red rum tastes way better back there…”
Outside the outpost.
“Leave it to me”, Barak said while taking out his sniper rifle.
“A sniper rifle”, Agouba shrieked.
“Take it easy, you idiot”, Visse hissed, “you don’t want the Skaarj to hear us right?”
“Sorry”. Agouba started blushing and his eyes crossed Rumiko’s.
She was nodding her head, and rolling her eyes in the back of her pretty, little head.
“Nalis”, she mumbled.
“Yeah kid, a real Necris sniper rifle. Better sniper scope than the human model, trust me on this one. And two type of bullets: regular ones and explosive ones. If the latter hits you, .. well.. you go out in a loud bang!”
“But it takes time, and precision, firing one of those bullets”, Laque interrupted Barak,” and we only got 5 of those bullets with us. They’re very hard to get by.. and they’re way too expensive!”
“That’s why”, Barak continued,” we’ll be saving these suckers for special occasions.”
“Did you bring the infrared goggles”, Visse asked Laque.
Laque nodded and took out of her backpack a pair of shiny goggles. “Will this do?”
“Just fine”, Visse grinned while putting on the goggles.
“Although we Necris are used to nocturnal environments, and we can see things like no other creature can in the dark, we have our limits. I need to scan a wide area. This will take a moment; I’ll be searching for weak spots, which might enable our passage through!
Visse started scanning the heavy walls of the outpost, the watchtowers, the many Skaarj patrolling back and forth. Neo was putting something down on his notepad, Rumiko was charging up her handgun and Barak was scanning another part of the outpost with his sniper rifle.
“All done”, Visse whispered.
“Same here”, Barak replied.
“This isn’t going to be easy”, Visse mumbled,” there are way too many Skaarj out there, and the walls appear to be sold and strong.”
“You can see all that, just by .. looking at those walls? Incredible!”, Agouba said while uttering a silent cry.
Visse patted him on the head.
“There must be a way to climb over those walls, without a Skaarj seeing us. But even if we succeed in doing that, what lies beyond ?”
“A friend of me has been there once”, George said while staring at the outpost, “ a clan leader. He told me about the place.. how big it was. But there are only walls on this side, I mean, once you’re in there, the only thing you’ll find is the eh base and small buildings etc… the path to the forbidden area is shielded by a strong forcefield however.”
“We need a way in”, Laque said while squinting her eyes,” and George here, will help us in doing so.”
“Me? How can I…”
“Listen up”, Laque continued, “here’s my plan. George, I hope you do know what a Skaarj warrior looks like?”
“Yes .. I do know.. that clan leader.. he yes some knowledge.. why?”
“Here’s my plan, listen up everyone..”, Laque whispered.
The group started laughing when she finished telling her “master plan”.
A Skaarj patrol, checking the perimeter for possible intruders heard something and decided to check it out.
“I do like the Nali sky you know…”, Skaar trooper Hu’ji mumbled to his friend F’yri..
“Agree, this takes me back to our home planet and… what is this??”
F’yri seemed startled and grabbed his siderarm.
“What?”, Hu’ji asked him, while scanning the surroundings. All of the sudden he saw a small group approaching the outpost.
“It appears to be a Skaarj and ..4 Necris…one Acron and a stupid Nali. They obviously are his prisoners. “
“How can you see that?”, F’yri mumbled.
“Their hands are locked in a deathlock (compare this to extremely strong handcuffs)
“Should we let them in?”
“Let’s hear the Skaarj out first, F’yri, standard procedure right?”
“O yeah, right sorry..”
Visse looked up to the huge, blue gate.
“This better work Laque”, she whispered and glanced at an apparently nervous George.
“Don’t worry George, you’ll do fine. Just take it easy.”
“Why did you have to kill them?”, George hissed.
“We killed that Skaarj patrol, cause we had to. If we didn’t do so, they would have screamed for help, and we’d have been ****ed!”
“Now you’re wearing the stars and stripes of a lesser commanding Skaarj, George. Make it look good.”
Barak winked at him. “You’ll do fine kid.”
George swallowed and stared at the blue gate, and the guards in the surrounding watch towers. A subgate opened and 3 Skaarj troopers came out, razors ready to go.
“Who are you and where did you find this bunch of intruders?”, the first troopers asked George with a firm voice.
“I am lesser commander N’tkrali, of the 3rd seekers patrol. I’ve found these intruders, near the hills. I was able to surprise them, they weren’t carrying anything but this silly sidearm and a .. check it out.. a stick.”
The trooper stared at George for quite a while, but finally started laughing.
“A stick and a handgun? Man, I’m telling you, that’s the best thing I’ve heard in ages. Bring those idiots inside, we’ve got a nice and comfortable cell waiting for them.”
“Will do”, George replied and gestured the others to start walking. He kicked Agouba to make it look more real.
“Move it, you stupid Nali”, George shouted.
The other Skaarj laughed and patted George on the shoulders.
“If it was up to me, I’d rip that stupid Nali his head off”, a Skaarj warrior shouted from his watch tower.
Inside. Dozens of Skaarj were walking by, staring at the small group. Most were packing rippers and razors.
“Well, this place is big”, Visse whispered to Laque.
“No worries, I’ve seen and conquered bigger hell holes than this one”, she answered her fellow clan mate.
“We need hardware, some serious hardware”
“I see a lot of miniguns here”, laque mumbled.
“I don’t believe those idiots haven’t found Neo’s portable handgun. They didn’t even check our backpacks!”
Visse sighed.
“Overconfident fools Visse”, Barak grinned, “very soon they will pay the price for this!”
“Yeah, and these cuffs..” she winked at barak.
“… I’m ready, and so are the others”. Barak looked at Neoknight and Rumiko.
“We’re all ready for action, just .. give us the signal.”
“Will do Barak, just hold your horses”, Laque whispered, we’re approaching a small building.”
“Halt, who goes there”, the Skaarj guard said.
“Lesser commander N’Tkrali, I’ve brought a couple of “trespassers” or intruders if you want to. They weren’t packing any weapons, they were clean. Overconfident fools I’d say.”
The Skaarj guard walked up to the group.
“So do you have a clue what they were doing here?”
“No”
George quickly glanced at Visse.
“I think I’ve spotted the forcefield, Laque, over there, to the right.”
“Why yes, incredible. And do you see that building on the left? It’s packed with miniguns. If we could get in there, we could probably make our way through to the Forcefield controller and sabotage it.”
“And enter the forbidden area”, Visse smiled.
“Now would be a good moment though”
“Wait for my signal Visse, George knows..”, Laque whispered and looked at the Skaarj guard.
“Well, what were these Necris doing here? And that Acron and.. oh man…a Nali.”
“I don’t know”, George answered him, a confused look on his face.
The Skaarj guard frowned.
“Who did you say were you again?”
George swallowed, only for a split second, but the guard noticed.
“Lesser command…”
“INTRUDERS”, the guard yelled and grabbed his ripper.
In the blink of an eye an evisceration knife sliced the guard his throat. The green blood stained the walls of the prison building.
“Quick!”, Laque cried”, follow me!!!”
The other Skaarj had taken cover, or were assaulting the group.
An alarm rang over the entire outpost! Intruders! Intruders! Seize them! Kill them!
The group made it to the aforementioned left building with the miniguns.
“Here, here and here”, Laque said while giving Neo, Visse and Barak a minigun.
“What about me”, Agouba muttered.
“Give me a break”, Visse groaned,” just make sure you’re behind us!”
“Ready?”, Laque said while breathing heavily, “our goal is that red, small building over there.
It’s not that far, we can make it! LET’S MOVE!!!!!!!”
Out came the Necris, miniguns firing wildly at the many Skaarj swarming all over the place. Green blood and
Organs stained the walls.
Unfortunately, Neo got hit in the leg, and Visse had to carry him to safety.
All of the sudden Agouba got shot in the head with a ripper!
“NO, our guide!”, Rumiko yelled!
“He’s still alive”, Laque cried, “ and dragged the Nali to safety.
They were inside the red building.
“How’s the leg”, Barak asked Neo, who has in heavy pain.
“It hurts, but we have to get past that forcefield first!”
“Let me see”, Laque said while studying the control board.
“Oh no time for this”, Visse hissed and used her minigun on it!
“Well that was subtle”, Laque mumbled.
“Yes”, Barak smiled,” but the forcefield is down!
Quickly as they could the group ran through the small gate, were the forcefield used to be.
The Skaarj stopped following them.
“Leave them”, the Skaarj sergeant said,” they’re toast.”
He looked at the other Skaarj and ordered them to repair the forcefield as quickly as possible.
In the meantime the sergeant had some explaining to do to his commander.
