Epic Announces "Major" UT3 Expansion

No doubt, public interest of UT3 is present. Also lots of people who dislike the game still comment (what is funny ). As long as people talk about, the game isn't dead....

i personally think Epic was dumb to make an announcement without giving any type of details. all this will do is hype this expansion to heavenly limits and dissapoint a majority of the people who didn't get what they thought they deserved.

Edit: I think, nobody really wants to hate ut3. This expansion pack gives many the hope that "everything will be better soon".

I think that UT3 is far from dead - Even those who seem to spend alot of time complaining about it still take an interest in it. People haven't given up on it yet.

Remember all those cool things they talked about in the beginning? Upgraded UI...with support for Clans and community. A lobby that everyone can go in to meet and start a game. Streaming seemless levels and with side missions and new resources that will help the team(I'm thinking not just vehicles and orbs).

Also...Add a couple of new weapon/super weapons like UT2004 did. Balance out the Necris and Axon vehicles. Necris crushes Axons for now...except the tank/Levi. Maybe add that super Necris vehicle to equal the Levi that we never got. Bring back Assault! Remember the assault mission they played in one of the early vids in the city level? They obviously were looking at adding that.

If they can do these things and and maybe a couple more...this would be essentially a new game altogether. Thats what this franchise needs! Thats what I would hope to see!

UT4 which could blow the doors off the fps scene by including stuff we've never seen before in an FPS while still keeping the core UT feel and features and gameplay.

You can't honestly believe that Epic is going to do this with the UT series after announcing to the world that Gears and consoles are now Epic's focus along with of course selling licenses? I can see all of their innovation that has to do with real gameplay being put in Gears while maybe UT will still see some visual innovations like it used to be in the past, although seeing how much Gears 2 improved in this area from Gears 1 this may be totally where Epic's innovations will go.
