Oh really? And what would that be? It's either realtime or not realtime (aka prerendered). You know, there is a still something else than prerendered.![]()

Who knows. They've said before that they're working on new content for the game to help it sell over time, but these speeches/interviews really make it sound like they're done with it. And I think we're well aware by now that what Epic says they'll do is rarely accurate.Doesn't a "postmortem" release like this means they're done working on it?
Two crappy patches, and that's all we get?
I am so glad, SO glad, I didn't bother with a new computer for this.

Well it is unfortunate mappers think like this, honestly I would be looking to make mods (which I used generally) for my own love of this game and engine. Not because I of player counts, something which I think is overused!
Take Max Payne 2, there was a round up recently in my local game mag about mods for that game and how many players does that have? If you have a passion for creating things then I think thats all that matters!
Maybe I am just being overly optimistic but hey Im gonna stick with UT3 modding myselfI just remember how things were back in UT2003 then to see things hit full mass a year odd later with UT2004 was really nice

Hi WarTourist and if you really wanna know about it... Well imo CliffyB made it sound like the failure of UT3 had more to do with unhappy customers and whiny users than with the problems/issues/bugs in the game.
I don't remember calling Grobut an idiot, only that I challenged his post. Whether YOU consider him right is your prerogative, but I stand by my opinion as well. And for your info, I followed development on UT2003/4 and UT3 very closely. Yes, Epic stated they would do this and do that, but I personally never took any of it as a fooking promise. You see, I am a bit more realistic in that I realize that not all conceptual ideas make it into the finished product. I also know that rarely ever are shipped games exactly how they were conceived to be. It doesn't mean that I'm better than anyone else; maybe, just maybe, I look at this from a different point of view than most of you.Might be, but Grobut is right. Everything Epic said and didn't say ended up in public expectations that Epic couldn't match. Nobody who have kept an eye on the epic forums can disagree about that. You can call everyone idiots, it will still not change this fact.
Glad Epic acknowledge the problems like this and I'm very curious on what we will see in the future of UT. To me it's still the #1 game.
Ah -- so it's not a typo -- it's an unintentional tip-of-the-hat to your fatherYeah, what's weird is they got it right in the article propper. Well, since that's my father's name, it sounds like he just got some game jouralism ink!
Hi Anuban. I've never read him say that, so that sounds like a pretty subjective opinion.![]()
i have seen passion for creating custom content in another game recently. i was just checking around for some custom stuff for quake 4 because for some reason i wanted to play quake 4 online again. 'on the surface' it seemed people had given up on quake 4 for good. but it seems that's just not the case. the latest q4max version (competitive mod for q4 for those who dont' care too much about quake) was released by the end of january and there are still a bunch of mappers making maps for the games. some of them actually really really nice.
No, you said he was full of crap so I stand corrected. ^^ And you misunderstand me, if you and I don't expect Epic to follow through on every hint of possible features they spilled during development is of no importance. The general publics impressions is what matters.I don't remember calling Grobut an idiot, only that I challenged his post. I think that's what the patches are for. Now that they've patched it this far I'm going to buy a copy. (In fact I just have, it should be in the mail).OK....So what happens now!? UT3.5? Expansion Packs? I mean I'm glad they admit the shortcomings but how are they going to fix them!?
