@MonsOlympus

It's Rikers, isn't it? Looks cool anyway. Can't wait to see more. I'll read more about baking normal maps in modo and maybe try to make a dispersion pistol with powerups, or any other. It could be used in future to make sort of Oldschool weapons mutator for ut3 too :D I just have to finish up all the commercial stuff I'm doing now.

Yeah its the rikers, just a very ruff concept to get an initial look of it :)

Mons, that is the BEST LOOKING remake of the Vortex Rikers I have EVER. SEEN. Let's just hope it doesn't go to waste.

ummz thanks! I wouldnt go so far to say its the 'best looking' Im happy enough with how it turned out to show you guys though ;)

its a roughly accurate remake... I would probably give it some more dynamic lighting on the ship (lights escaping from the windows) and some nice particle effects for the exaust. You might want to decrease the number of windows on the side to create this effect i'm talking about. The geometry of this ship is definitly more sleek than the original and overall better quality. If you haven't taken a look at the way Legend made their ships in U2, I would consider going back and taking some of those concepts and applying them ere.

I'll take that into consideration, I think youre right though it is still alittle flat and could use some more layers. I did try to keep with the original shape as much as I could while trying to round it a tad :)

Trouble is back when unreal was made, low poly was about the extent of it! Now we have higher res textures and polys theres going to have to be more thought put into filling some of the gaps in details.

Unreal is awesome. I started playing it because of this mod. Yes, it's the first time (I did not have a PC at the time it came out so :D). Sadly I was unable to purchase it in stores because Unreal Anthology is discontinued :( (Tried EB and Futureshop, none had it). If I could've given my 5$ I would have, but I couldn't. :(

Support for this re-make. If I get less busy I might even do something, not sure... Hmm.

but that's alright :)

btw, when 227f is released, I hope that you update (http://www.oldunreal.com). Right now is 227e which is pretty stable but has some really bad issues and little annoying bugs. Just stick with what you got now and wait for the UGold 227f patch to come out before you patch it. That will give you much much better graphics rendering and audio. D3D8 Renderer with FMOD Audio FTW

That black mesa mod (hl1 remake) has been in production for like 5 years and they aint anywhere near on finnishing it. Unreal with its long and many maps would probably take double the effert.

Hey just want to say that there is still a lot of support for this project and I hope you guys don't give up. I don't care if it takes as long as Duke Nukem Forever, as long as it finally comes to fruition.

With the exception of a professionally produced Unreal 3, I am more excited for this project than any other.

Assuming this will be a long-time project (years), I might want to help in the future. Right now I'm too busy with things. :)

Just don't let this slip away folks, great idea in need of a push. :)

Sad to see its dying before a beta or some levels got done. If you guys who started working on this would have went over to www.oldunreal.com I bet it would be done by now. The community there is STILL making new things for u1 and still making levels and maping and STILL PLAYING LIKE CRAZY.

U1 is the best single player fantasy type adventure of all time. The latest patch there basically made all UT's features workable in u1 and it was made by the community, the community has its own master server lists so regardless of support by epic or gamespy this game will be played forever.

Whoever has some of this done PLEASE post a link to what you have so others can continue the work. I'll bring this up over at oldunreal again and see if I can get some more ppl like diehard over here who are excellent mappers.

DO"NT LET IT DIE!@!

I don't want it to die, I simply don't have the time necessary to give it my full devotion. We had several artist like people join the team but we all had a variety of time constraints on us.

May I please have access to whatever is completed? We can divide and conquer and in the end we can add whatever is the best stuff.

I have a team of 3-4 people gathered up right now that are willing to pick up where you guys are at and help out.

Send me a PM and I'll get you all added to our private forum and see if we can continue the project. I'm happy to help with overall project management/delivery but I don't have much time to code right now.

I would like to make it with UDK, unfortunately the guidelines for developing on UDK are clear. It would be an infringement on Epic's IP to develop an Unreal port on there.

I can contact Mark Rein for final word on that, but, sadly, we are stuck with UT3 for now.
