    Its animations are very good. I imagine Epic didn't want it to push their focus away from the devilfish/squid.

    I'm probably gonna do some stinging, pain and death animations for the eel but put that in a separate mesh, and use the original animations for when its just moving, so 2 models, etc.

    Man I'd really want to play Dissent. I believe it's the weird hi-tech structure seen in the xmas 97 trailer.
    Also I wonder if Jupiter was ever supposed to have an unique texture set

    I bet you could fix that anim it's getting stuck on. Dammit, you are going to keep this up and I'll end up wanting to rebuild the entire version into a playable map.

    Master Unreal is working on it right now, this was just the straight adaptation test though, it's funny how it acts though.

    Nemo would have been probably the map that made use of those non-human Starship textures (feel like being made for a submarine almost).

    Thorough examination of the X-COM archives we received revealed a bit more than what's previously been seen.

    1. There is an August 97 map having some weapons myleveled that doesn't work with any beta available, but Leo's hexy magic tricks revealed some of the stuff contained in the mapfile.

    2. There is a couple 96-97 era textures, including one package, SBase, that was in the Unreal97 monster preview.

    3. There is an EULA for Unreal alpha stashed someplace.

    The textures are not from Unreal (it is xcom/KHG stuff), the SBase might be, but this SBase, natural, natural2 and telstechno cannot be opened becasue its under different build of Unreal, some hex editing might help it run under the earlier build though since its not that different and the test map as well, it includes stinger automag and eightball and flakcannon, along with some xcom trooper, but cannot be run again.

    Basically, this is the ED2.EXE ran in DOSBOX, characters are mangled, but it works for viewing the meshes and animations, when you click on ANIMplus it starts to animate the model, this is very good for viewing these old meshes also it retains their original scale unlike when importing it.

    And yes that is the "golem" running guy.

    "pegasus" or whatever it is, maybe the donkey, the skins are missing though so this is wrong skins applied on the mesh, wings have different slot.

    Just testing various lighting settings and to be emitted by the player. Many of those are not used anymore in final Unreal or don't work the way they should be although I did see the cloudcast working at once (was supposed to be shadows of the clouds from sky), caused by a bug and also actor like bsp shadows by another bug. Wish there was a way to do negative lighting in final Unreal.

    I used the into the shadows music from the cancelled 95 RPG if you are wondering.

    EDIT: And yes, that's a lighttype which causes a surface to animate/wave if you are within its radius. Three of these lighttypes are shown here in fact.

    EDIT: video showing the "lighting bug" in Unreal, at least one of it, hard to reproduce, sometimes happens when you shine a light at that or fire with projectile casting light like stinger shard.     No, that was just in Delacroix's repackage of the beta, the original beta player by default was named highlander and was male. :lol:

    Also, this video at 4:22, I just noticed now, the biorifle isn't biorifle but a napalmgun, napalmgun replaced flamethrower (which had its own mesh not the biorifle one as revealed by the extracted scripts from 97, although we do not know how the flamethrowe mesh really looked) originally and was before biorifle(it shot exploding napalm), but the mesh was same as biorifle, in fact in Unreal Beta there is the Ashield1 skin that is being used for shieldeffect for some reason, but the skin can be applied to biorifle.
