Has anyone figured out how to bind keys to the two side/thumb buttons on a Wireless Intelimouse Explorer 2.0? Pressing them while in the "Input" screen of "Settings" has no affect and I have no clue what to add to my User.ini to make them work in the game. The mouse is great except for this problem.

I used to have that mouse and had same probs, after trying several things out i sorted it.Installed TweakUI (powertoys for XP ) and it worked.Had to change something in TweakUI settings but can't remember anymore what it was sorry.

...And here's my latest work: a guide to bombing run. I was thinking of writing this down for some time now, but I never really got around to actually do it. I really hope that it helps making this wonderfull gametype more attractive (yeah, right  ).

@Day_Walker: thanks for your reply. It's good to know that my work is appreciated :)

only get out of raptor or another priority vehicle on the map if there isn't an enemy close by. Too many n00bs get in a raptor to get to a node fast then they just get out and let enemy hijack. It is such a big loss to the team when you lose a raptor. When there are big games with over 10 ppl per team on a smaller map, when I hijack an enemy raptor I just fly it into a safe place and only get into really quick encounters that I know I can win without losing it. Plus some people including my-self like to jump out of raptors before they die. But too many people jump out too soon and the raptor doesn't blow up after impact from the fall then some enemy comes by and hijacks it and prevents your team from getting a new raptor spawn back at base. Sometimes I take off in the hell bender without other people because in a high ping or lossy server it is hard for people to use the onboard weapons while I am moving. A lot of times the people shooting the mines and sniper thing aren't good shots even when I come to a complete stop for them so I end up getting like 5 road rage kills average trying to keep myself from getting fragged. And it is because of this I prefer to go out alone sometimes unless someone is good enough to dodge after me. If he does so then I assume he is qualified to ride with me. But too many noobs on the internet. It is still pretty easy on some maps to own with the airmines while someone else driving even in high ping but the direct shot cannon thing is useless when someone else is driving the thing unless it is low ping.

taleweaver, yes it is very much possible to catch a ball in midair with the trans. spec a little 135/lg/ig and you'll be amazed at their catches.

and about the half court shots on bifrost/skyline, much further shots can be made consistently. i can do full court skyline consistently when i've practiced it a little beforehand. that's the only shot i've bothered to learn in normal weapons, but i'm sure that with a little practice it would be possible to hit full court shots on colossus pretty well. i can hit two full court shots and the half court shot on that map in instagib.

I know it's possible to catch it midair; I've done it a few times, but not enough to know how to describe it.
As for the half courts/full court shots: how many times do you need to hit the ball for that kind of boost? And also: is there a difference between the instaGib rifle and the shock prim for this move?
Oh, and don't you mean colossus instead of bifrost there?

i did mean colossus actually. and yes, there is a difference between ig and shock. the ig adds a lot more momentum to the ball than the shock does. for example, in colossus instagib the half court shot is done with one boost, the full courts are done with two boosts. skyline full court is also one boost, but in normal weapons it takes two. as for how many boosts it would take in normal weapons on bifrost...i have no idea. i'm guessing 2-3 half court colussus, and 4-5 full court.

Updated the page a bit with your information.

Oh, and did you guys know that when you collect those pills, you can freak out once you reach 100?
Yes? Damn...Well, for those who don't know it: I made another page with all the info I could find out about the stuff.
EDIT: have added a description of the other items too :)

I've been thinking about the question 'what makes a good map?' lately. I still don't know, but I do know how to use (or abuse) a map, so I've written it down here. I just hope this can help out both gamers and mappers in a way...

Now that we have the earth splashing up with a tank shot, it's a good time to remind people that a deemer can be taken out with the splash damage of a tank shell if you time your shot just right.

Aim either at the top of your own node or the base depending on where you think the deemer is going to hit, and time your shell to hit just before the deemer.

One of the most satisfying things to do in a game of ONS.

P.S. If the enemy's attacking your node in a distance, and you can't get a clear shot on them in your tank, aiming at the top of your own node often works.

As a general principal an explosion that goes off in mid air has a full sphere of dammage, whilst an explosion that hits flat ground doesn't.

Somewhere in the Universe
1. Goo Jump: Put 2 or 3 blobs of Goo on the ground (Pri Fire.) Switch to Shieldgun, hold Alt and jump as soon as the goo explodes. \o/
A good place to use this is to get the shield on Rankin:
Stand on the edge of the manhole above the shield, drop 2 blobs of goo, jump down, grab shield, switch to shieldgun and goojump back up the manhole.

well maybe i am wrong, but isnt the goo you meant supposed to be goop??
like when i kill someone with the bio-rifle then the console says "you killed .... whith your goop" or something like that.
or is it normally called like goo?? or is it goop?? :biorifle:

like i said maybe its a very stupid post now but im new here so i just want to post something :D

@Taleweaver: very nice site with lots of tips.
well i already know all the things you said but also then its very nice to read it ;)

Before UT2k3 and 2k4 most UT players used to call the Bio-rifle the Goo-Gun, since it shoots goo-ish yelly. When 2k3 / 2k4 came out the makers decided to call it Goop.

This just in...

The shield -gun alt-fire WILL reflect a paladins cannon blast in the same way it will reflect a shock combo alt-fire!!! Saw someone mention this on the Atari forums and had to try it. Sure enough it works like a charm.
That'll seriously demine the usefulness of the Paladin then, cause it's WAY too slow to move out of the way of that thing in time ;)
