short replies:
@sir_edmond... I have these links already, thanks
@Demosthanese... the AI is incredible but can get stuck like in any other FPS out there in places. UTs bots behave pretty bad in certain situations too. If a bot gets stuck (no matter what engine) you can normally do anything you like without him reacting. FarCrys 'bots' do have different modes of alertness that really affect how they behave and these modes can change based on the actions you and they take. The group AI is most times really incredible too. But as all bots out there... you can get them at specific bottle necks like doorways and such pretty easily. But even there the FarCry AI is pretty good cause their bots can hide behind walls, obstacles aso and even lean out behind them. Things that UT bots do not need to know due to the different style of play they are designed for.
@benmcl... their support is there. They have released a documentation for their sandbox editor that really deals with everything you need, and it was updated already to get even more infos within. Sure, the SDK is not yet released... so everybody is waiting for this to happen.
@OICW... the LOD shifts on my system aren't that bad as you describe them but they are noticeable within certain areas. But if you check out the view distance and fog then UT is not actually the best reference due to the very early fog showing up. Sure adjustable but not that much to get a decent view.
anyway... you pulled me into some sort of discussion I actually did not planned to start with this.
