The main issue is that most people seem to think that 2x is too much. Duke and Toad did not ask you peoples what you thought about it; they asked the experts.

I don;t really have a problem with the "zoom". If they implement the change Aegis suggested that would make some of our bindings much easier.
My main problem with the new RA is that it seems that recoil and mis alignment is toned down when NOT zoom. Not sure what other changes are being made but I find this weird.

can someone please post the latest RA right here please?? So i can DL it and play it offline. The links in poeple's sigs are broken, PR dosent have it up for DL, i tried to change the cache into an INI but failed. please help ME!

You sure it's not on PR? Try the forums. The working link is only the .u file (the .int file isn't 100% right.)

I mean the PR forums btw.


The toned down recoil is also an effect of the experts. I don't mind any of these new changes.. I just go with the flow and nod quietly.

I was just making a guess at how to make the .int file. When I used the file, Duke's RA would show up in the mutator list and it could be loaded. The problem was that none of the weapons would show up except for the nades and knife. So basically it is only useful for testing out the new jumping and your zoom bind.

If someone can show me how to make the proper .int file, that would be appreciated.

Ok I can accept the stuff toned down if thats what the experts say. Is this the same for the miss alignment? I always undestood that the settings in yurch's RA was suggested by the experts too. Different opions from different experts. hmmmmm

The problem is that a lot of weapons handling is subjective to the person. No one is like another so no one person will shoot like another so one expert might say recoil will leave a large dent in someone's bone but osmeone else will say that the recoil is almost negligible.

That's the problem. That any people thinking they are experts from what they read or see.

Well:
1)Some like ra286 the way it is.

2)Some want a 1.5x zoom instead of 2x

3)Some don't like the ultra high jump (climb)

4)Others don't like the reduction in recoil and weapon misalignment

I suggest that you put in options for each 1,2,3,4 in the .ini That way, server admins can tailor it the way they like. Some will just put in the zoom, some will change the zoom to 1.5x and put the climb in, but remove the recoil changes, etc.

I have allways said though with yurch's stuff and Dukes changes, that if the experts say thats the best way to mimic somthing in RL then I tend to accept that change.
The changes I usually suggest are more gameplay such as the unzoom bind. And thankyou Duke. I do appreciate it.
Same thing with weapon misalignment and recoil. If people who actually use these weapons say its such and such then do it that way.
I too like the ini option for server setup. I suggested the same when RA and RA2286 was closer.

Can someone publish a full features list of the RA286?
What I'm getting so far is this:
-2x zoom
-toned down recoil
-'climb' feature
-new nade effects
-modified weapon handling
-some change in movement

Yes a feature list would be nice.

;) If I start using KP or Kungpao I have to remember what the abreviation is. Right now all I do is cut and paste the name. Saves me from some typos.

9) 50% chance of critical hit which will make player bleedout and die.
10) new spawnable super weapon "Mah Precious" effectively an auto GL and robar in one.
11) Weapon penetration increased

I think those are correct. Duke or Toad know more about it.

well kw is pretty close about the modifications, though i'll make a complete log soon.. i'm still adding some stuff (gonna mess with ballistics). i messed with the critical hit system again, i found online that the condition to activate it ceased functioning after the first occurrence..which means it only happens once :/ i sent bushie an updated version which removed this bug, but i also removed the chance element, so now you'll bleed every time from being shot at a rate determined by the damage done.. i'm thinking now that i should put back the chance factor.

on another note, the gunsight unzoom bind is "stdfov"
