Plus it has 3 leds on the side, possibly indicating the amount of rockets loaded, and...it's red.

Edit: and you can actually see the tip of one the rockets.

heheh Maybe they planning to release a UT2008 a year later to fix the crappyness like how they did UT2004 to fix the dissapointment of UT2003. If they call the game UT3, then the fix-up will be called UT4 (but still using Unreal engine 3.0) and the game number and engine number become out of sync... so yeah, by not giving it a year number instead of a solid sequal number they avoid this

another type of games has year based titles....sports sims
thats not good.....they don't change alot from year to year
so i fear the UT series won't either in the next titles
a very cynical move by epic............ hopefully they fix the gameplay though
i want to see a new very different game

hmm... i was very happy to see Epic leave Atari behind, to go to what i thought would be a great publisher... btu i must say that i am not the least bit impressed with them sofar... releaseing all their info/screen to pay services... are we gonna have to get a FilePlanet subscription to get the demo, when it eventually comes out? i wouldnt be surprised, at this rate... sofar the Malcolm render is the only thing that they have outright released tot he public, afaik. well atleast gamewallpapers was kind enough to allow us to see lower res versions of the wallpapers they got... though i would liek a 1280 or 1600 version to use as my own wallpaper.

as for the game name, i actually like(d) the 200X naming scheme... but it has come to resemble a bad time in UTs life. not that i think UT2003 or 2004 were bad games... i enjoyed them thouroughly... but their idea of releaseing a new game for people to buy, every year upset many people. and i think as a result of that, regardless of wether Epic plans on releasing a UT2008 a year after UT2007, many people (outside the hardcore UT community) will see the name, and assume/fear that they WILL, which would scare of a lot of people, from purchasign and playign the game. i think its a terrible idea, stickign with the naming scheme, and i really hope, the games sake, that they change it.

Hello All,
I kind of wish they would have gotten a little more creative with the name..Unreal Tournament:New Dawn...Envy...Revolution...Hybrid...something to denote the new direction. It does look stunning though. From what the developers are saying the best part could be somthing you can't capture in a screen shot!!

Im kinda middle of the road on this whole naming issue. It sounds tacky, but yet i dont care at the same time. Envy would have been cool, but crap release a good game and i could care less about the name.

Secondly, if that 3rd screenshot is indeed an ingame, looks like they finally listened to all the complaints and made the models bigger and the eye height has also been "improved".

I don't really care about the name, but objectively the problem I see with the yearly naming convention is the way sports/driving games release themselves every year without barely a difference between them. Keeping this name leaves the door open for Epic to do the same if they felt like it, and I'm guessing the next UT after this one will still be the same engine.

You could just say that poeple who buy those games are idiots, but there's a difference with UT - it's community based and it uses network protocols. The whole UT2003/4 increment was pretty divisive to the point that many went back to UT. There's still 50% more people playing UT than there are playing UT2004.

So, I think the next UT should have a distinctive name that seperates itself from the rest (althoguh it would have been better if they stuck to UT, UT2, UT3 but it's a bit late for that now).

Those walls look amazing, is the last shot concept or ingame?

While you're all debating about the name, Micro$oft executives are currently meeting behind the scenes to discuss how to make the next UT game (be it UT2007 or something else) an NexBox/XBox 360 exclusive. Imagine this: what if they changed the name to UT360 or something else? While this is a PC title as far as we know right now, I'm less concerned about the name and more concerned about those damn consoles taking away our favorite multiplayer online game. I don't have as much faith in Epic as I used to when it comes to delivering what the community wants.

I don't care what they name it, as long as it's created on the PC, made for the PC, and exclusive for the PC (Linux and Mac people included). I'm more concerned about that being thrown into jeopardy right now.

I agree that the UT2007 name is (should I say) unfortunate, and it should in fact be called UT3...

However, the main thing that concerns me is the fact that by using a similar name to UT2003/4, it will make it still keep the stigma of UT2003 :(

UE3 is so good that it makes you wonder, doesn't it? ;) That's a screenshot, apparently.

Does anyone else feel it's really freakin early too be having previews and such. It'll be a good two years before so much as a demo is out.

more like a year, or year an a half.

but yeah.. maybe a bti early for a "preview".. i didnt read the preview tehre yet, but did they even play an early version fo the game? or jsut ask epic a bunch of questions? dont see hwo it could be called a preview if they havent even seen the game in action...
