The WIP Screenshot Thread!

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. It'll be my take on a vertical CTF level. (as I adore the concept of something like Vertebrae and all the old community levels with flags visible from one another)
Duh my old 2k4 map will no longer be remembered, then... :p

Looking forward to playing it. I like Vertebrae but it feels overscaled and too open for my taste. Something tighter and HOLP-styled will be awesome... :tup:

Nah, CTF-Opposite was one of the inspirations, though the whole dynamic brick walls thing is definitely not. :)

Not worth the time it takes to set up all those movers... :D A nanoblack-like material would've been faster and a bit less annoying... :rolleyes:
So it will be a 'serious' vertical map, or do you plan to add walls you can shoot through too? ;)

Serious enough to be very enjoyable to play, and a few interesting alternative things you can do. I'll eventually post a beta of it to get some feedback over refinement of weapon placement, but the layout is pretty set in stone, and I'm a good way along with decoration.
And it's not so much the fact that those brick walls are a lot of work, it just doesn't fit this level. :)

Now that I'm back to a fairly normal/regular daily rhythm, I've started the work again on the personal little project I had to pause for a while. Originally HOLP material, but at this point will be a stand-alone little pet project. More will eventually be forthcoming.

Vertebrae in UT3 was terrible, but I'm certain you're not doing something like that. :p

Could always use a base1-sees-base2 CTF map in my list. Just don't do something close to vertebrae, for the love of all things living.

Just wanted to say that I hate Vertebrae (call it personal bias).

That's why I said I love the concept of it. Personally I was not a fan of the actual level because it was too big for my tastes. Gravis (my level) is tighter. Once I get to a point where no playable area has any checkerboard stuff left I will put out a first pass beta to give people a taste for it.
So, don't worry just yet. :)

Nice map soulwax, would be good to have some higher grass or some bolders for a bit of cover perhaps... Love the premise.

I should have told you guys I didn't even start adding cover yet. Yes, I know, gameplay first, visuals later, but I couldn't resist. I've never worked with Decolayers before and I wanted to see what it would look like. :D
