Black Panther - I'm giving it either an 8/10 or a 9/10.....
Agreed despite the fact I only gave it 7.5. I was trying not to be overgenerous despite the fact the flick is good on all levels and great entertainment.

[Marvel Fan]I'd see it again any time.[/Marvel Fan]

Fail Safe-9/10

And old flick with Sidney Lumet directing and the production values and vibe of the movie feel old.

I hadn't seen this in years and years so I'd forgotten the way most of it played except for the ending was remains super-powerful (and might be a bit more topical recently and unfortunately).

For what it was back in its day and what it still means and sells to an audience I have to give it a nine and...........

Walter Matthau's character remains one of the vilest, most evil characters ever portrayed on film, in my opinion. Well played and RIP.

the thing (1982)

No matter how many times I watch this movie, it always catches me by the throat. The subtle sparse use of music/sounds, combined with the immersive environments and creature design. A mysterious "guest" insidiously working its way through the company of scientists, the paranoia these people quickly succumb to. The acting was natural and really pulled the viewer in. I'm not sure how many people nowadays could stomach the slower paced moments. The times the creature manifests itself are still quite impressive. The work that must've gone into making these models/props etc. ..truly admirable. There are some unforgetable moments in this movie (the blood test f.e.) which still made me go tense, even though I knew what was coming; Hallmark of a good movie. And the ending was just perfect. It's left to the imagination of the viewer. What could be better than that. Fuck those so called convoluted explanations some people give to movie endings. Just "figure" it out for yourself. Or don't. Sometimes you just don't have to. Because it's perfect that way.

9-9.19-9.99-9.023/10 I'm happy.

I watched that once, it was a bit of an odd movie but not too bad. I can stomach slower pacing, kinda tired of all the fast stuff that sometimes you have to pause and wonder about.

I mean seriously some stuff is like..hyperactive or something.

That Sugar Film-?/10

A documentary on what sugar does to the human body, the effects on diet and the way that society and culture are being manipulated by food manufacturers for commercial gain with no thought given to the long-term effects of the overuse of sugar.

It's a film about addiction and it's impacts and manipulation; enough to turn you off sugar for life.

^you can't be turned off from sugar for life. It is an essential nutrient, basically brain fuel.
You should be turned off from processed food and bad eating habits.

Annihilation , I love Natalie Portman. I don't like this movies. I like movies that are ambigious and force you to make up your mind. Those movies usually contain an internal logic that allows you to decide on the internal rules of what you've seen. Without spoilering too much, this movie is ambiguous but fails to supply enough meat for a few theories. It's like the five most important minutes of the story were cut. Maybe there'll be a second one(since this is based on a book triology) that will clarify the first one.

It's the sugars that are in most processed foods that are the problem.

Sugars are, of themselves, not the problem. The problem is that, if you read the labels on packaged foods, there is an amount of sugar in all of them.

Food manufacturers, have been pushing the safety of added sugar to processed foods for decades. It has become a problem of addiction and the calories delivered by the sugars in processed foods are not the same as the calories you get from say, fresh produce.

Sugar is the generic name for sweet-tasting, soluble carbohydrates, many of which are used in food. There are various types of sugar derived from different sources. Simple sugars are called monosaccharides and include glucose (also known as dextrose), fructose, and galactose. The "table sugar" or "granulated sugar" most customarily used as food is sucrose, a disaccharide of glucose and fructose. Sugar is used in prepared foods (e.g., cookies and cakes) and is added to some foods and beverages (e.g., coffee and tea). In the body, sucrose is hydrolysed into the simple sugars fructose and glucose. Other disaccharides include maltose from malted grain, and lactose from milk. Longer chains of sugars are called oligosaccharides or polysaccharides. Some other chemical substances, such as glycerol and sugar alcohols may also have a sweet taste, but are not classified as sugars. Diet food substitutes for sugar include aspartame and sucralose, a chlorinated derivative of sucrose.

Sugars are found in the tissues of most plants and are present in sugarcane and sugar beet in sufficient concentrations for efficient commercial extraction. The world production of sugar in 2011 was about 168 million tonnes. The average person consumes about 24 kilograms (53 lb) of sugar each year (33.1 kg in developed countries), equivalent to over 260 food calories per person, per day. Since the latter part of the twentieth century, it has been questioned whether a diet high in sugars, especially refined sugars, is good for human health. Over-consumption of sugar has been implicated in the occurrence of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dementia, and tooth decay. Numerous studies have been undertaken to try to clarify the position, but with varying results, mainly because of the difficulty of finding populations for use as controls that do not consume or are largely free of any sugar consumption.

Stay off processed foods and go for fresh produce.

Mary Magdelene-6/10

A good film in the sense that the characters were well played. The music was good.

However, in my opinion:

....... the movie stuck to much to the script of the original Bible. It hinted at the other historical material and circumstances around these characters but never did any thing more than take a superficial plug at that material.

Just got back from Ready Player One too. Don't expect anything but an adrenaline thrill ride with plot holes the size of trucks. Instead go knowing that as a fellow geek (nerd, whatev, you still fam) you will get more of the inside jokes than anyone in your aisle. It's worth the go-see.

Avengers: Infinity War (3D)-8/10

It's Marvel. It's big and spectacular. It also has incredible spoilers and it's very long. Despite the fact that it's so long the pacing was excellent, I didn't notice the time passing.

Sherpa-?/10

Documentary on the 2014 disaster on Mount Everest that killed 16 Sherpa. The film-makers might have gone to Everest to film a documentary about something else but this is the story they got; as tragic as it is.

Stunning cinematography of the Himalayas.

Yes the 1987 movie. Might have seen bits of it long ago but never watched it whole, until now.

There are still talks about a sequel, I hope Mel Brooks won't blow it. Because this one had some really good bits and that song was good too.

Unlike that crap animated series that I just got to know about - avoid that at all costs, only few episodes are good, the rest is too obvious low quality cringe worthy BS. And it doesn't have Bull Plimen, I mean Bill Pullman in it either.

But I'm not surprised why he didn't appear in that stiff-animated cringe BS.

So...given that mel brooks was responsible for most of that series, I'm afraid that the new movie if it comes out, will blow.

But I hope I'm wrong.
