M16A4 public beta release

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. Very nice :D My biggest complaint however is the M203 reload animation. It looks a bit weird since there is no animation of the barrel being pushed forward. Will it be tweaked?

And those flame balls that shoot out from the incendiary rounds when they explode look a bit crap.

If you look closely, there's a forward trigger on the M203 trigger guard. The animation begins by the index finger pressing on it to open the barrel. It happens rather quickly.

Yeah, there's a major issue with server crashing that I need to fix. Thanks prowler for getting my attention to the empty thrown weapon. Also crac you're right, I just tested it again on SG, dying with it empty crashes it also. I know what causes the empty thrown bug, and it's probably the same thing that happens for dying empty since the SG server allows dropping of weapons upon death...must fix.

Major fix:
- server crash bug (...hopefully)

- updated skins by Kow
- LAM attachment
- optional incendiary usage added in .ini file
- incendiary blast radius reduced by half while burning rate increased 2-fold
- increased light from flames

I havent tried the new version yet, but the incendairy round sound plays instantly at a distance, unlike the normal INF nades where the sound takes a while. A little thing, but still...

If this is an A4, shouldn't the launcher be attached via the RIS and not with the old M203 (not A1) heatshield junk?

There are two standard 40mm HE distance sounds. The first one has a bit of a delay, 0.15 seconds, hardly noticeable, the second one 0.50 seconds. I matched these time frames with the incendiary round explosions...try again maybe?

Well...Yes and no. The A4 can use either mount, and although the RIS mounted M203 makes more sense Duke has a thing for the Swiss cheese handguard;).

Speaking of which, Duke could you make it so that if a person chooses the Lam with the M203 it Uses the RIS mounted M203 and mounts the LAM on the side rails?

Excellent Job!

Only final suggestion is to remove the front sight (since there's no rear iron sight or detachable carry handle, there's no sense in having a front sight).

Maybe go with a weaver gas block.

2 things that I would like to point out in the M16A4 Icon

1) The text denoting the name of the weapon is blury and can't be easily read in game.

2) The mode selector says Auto as an option. It should say burst.

3) There is no 3 because I said I only had 2 things to say about the icon.

i've just installed the new version by overwriting the older files in ut/system/
but when i enter the loadout menu the M16A4 is gone.
the mutator is running for sure. i also deactivated all the other muts, but still it's not available. it's gone from my LODs ingame, too.
the old version worked fine for me. so i tried to remove all the mutator's files and reinstall - same result. any idea?

EDIT:

it works now. forgot i deleted the new40mm.u to play on some server because of version misatches. d'oh.... :rolleyes: :lol:

although if the lam could be converted into a range finder... :eek:

btw noticed the inf guy grips the gun every time its fired which is a nice touch, havent noticed that on the 'stock' weapons
