M16A4 public beta release

    I am just assuming that the mod team are making this stuff for kicks, to learn about modelling and to build their portfolios up. Any amusement I may derive from the end results is purely coincidental.

    Speaking of harassing the mod team, were you guys making an SPR?

    If you release a load of weapons as a pack, could you make each weapon have seperate files (so as to not require the redownloading of the whole thing if and when something needs patching)?

    heh, um the SPR...i think i still have that model (i've got so many its hard to tell). Yes i have a model for that. Haven't looked at it in a long time, so i can't remember haw good it is.

    Its been a while since i've actually modeled anything :p. Although i have a few models done (or really close).

    dunno if this has been asked before, if so i'm sorry to bother you:

    is it possible to display the weapon on the back of the soldier when you switch to other weapons like nades oder pistol?

    as far as i got it, there are "hooks" for hanging the weapons to the model. thus it should not be too much work. tell me if i'm wrong. :)

    Until recently we didn't have any way to do the Third person Slung models, although i believe duke said he figured out a way to do it, so the new models should show up slung on the soldiers back.

    is that meant to be good or bad :p ??

    anyway, i cant wait to see slung stuff on my inf men ;)

    aha, ok. do you think it's possible to bring this in with a new version of the weapons or can't it be inlcuded in this state of development anymore?

    When u throw a grenade u r supposed to keep the weapon hanging on your neck, or at least that's how we do it.

    Or even a better example (we learned how to do this right last week, it's the part where you throw a grenade during the basic room clearing process used in the IDF). It's a little hard to see the guy's weapon but possible. http://www.isayeret.com/units/land/infantry/golany/golany-10.jpg

    I think (it's hard to tell through the cloak of insignificance) he means that when we switch to grenades we should leave the rifle slung in that manner. Like i said, i'm not sure since he didn't even attempt to explain why he was showing us the image :p

    Could you explain it to us Gal.

    while testing the weapon on our server we found some issues:

    - when switching ammo types (40mm) the normal animation for reloading the m203 is being played. but the loaded nade won't drop to the ground but simply vanish and stays in the inventory. maybe you could do an animation of taking out the old nade and putting it away and then inserting the new one. if this is too much work for this little issue, just make the reload process take more time as you have to put away the already loaded nade and don't let it fall to the ground.
    - sometimes the smoke nades vanish from your inventory when switching ammo types several times. no pattern found yet.

    Ok here is my problem. Stupid me forgot to figure this out at work where he has a nice T1 internet access. Now that I am on 26,400 dialup I really don't want to go through this whole thread. I have read the readme file also.

    I can't get the ladder sites to activate. Are they implemented in the latest version? Am I missing a file? Am I missing a binding? I am probably doing something stupid but can't seem to figure it out. This is both on line and off line.

    First of, the Final release of the m16a4 is part of the INF Mod team weapon pack 1 released today. go grab it.

    Now, the ladder works basically like the ladder with the hk69. You don't have to raise it thougt, it's always up.

    With the weapon hipped and the m203 attachement select (attachment key), the weapon mode key switches the 40mm ammo type. While aiming with the m203 attachement selected, the weapon mode key changes the elevation of the rifle like with the hk69.

    And benny, you HAVE TO ADD THE SITES TO THE LOADOUT :p Its an attachment, and if you have a certain combination of other attachements, it wont show, becuase its not allowed. IE no Acog with ladder sites, or LAM with ladder sites etc.

    Not behaving as you described. No point in responding until I download the weapon pack. Probably running an old version although I don't see how.
