Well, I liked watching "space above and beyond", because it had was ehm... harder .. I guess.. more daring than most other shows... They dared killing someone, or the main characters had to go through a hell of a lot of trouble to survive or accomplish something... shane vanssen..kristen cloke..hmm.. sexy sexy.. those lips... etc...

Red dwarf :D Of course! Red dwarf isn't one of those typical (far from it) shows.
Good humour. Guaranteed for a good laugh. Very important to me.

When I was a kid, and I mean more than twenty years ago.. I liked watching "buck rogers" (hehe remember that) and "battlestar galactica". My sister was in love with apollo hehe :D

p.s.: Whenever I see someone mention B5, I misread it as "bull****"..
Just a split second. Then I read B5.

Maybe he only likes it when he's going quickly.

Space Above and Beyond was cool...sorta like Vietnam in space...

I completely forgot about Dr Who, the new series was ace, nowhere near B5 for me but hey there was something on BBC 1 that was worth watching for once.

And since no one else has mentioned it, also serious respect to the X-Files.

I remember a series in the eighties where a family or group would travel between dimensions and always end up in a new adventure. I can't remember the title though.

Well, the first 2 or 3 seasons or Sliders were pretty good. It was more anticipation than full fledged SciFi though.

Otherwise, I haven't seen most of the series discussed here. They've never been aired on broadcast TV (aside from Stargate) and I've only gotten satellite TV last year (which allowed me to see a bit of Enterprise and Voyager).

If were getting in to anime I like Outlaw Star.
There was one they used to show on cartoon network, they dont show it anymore and it wasnt anime. It was an american show (I think?) rendered on a computer: Reboot. That was a rather awesome show.
There was also another one that was shown on TechTV when it was alive: Dual, it had some subtitle but I found something about that show truly awesome (zomg giant robots in alternate universes).

If you don't have anything useful useful to say, just shut up

And there is SciFi without aliens if it really bothers you so much (but it's just a strawman anyways). Like Firefly and the new Battlestar Galactica

Lost is the epitome of the "science fiction" genre. It also rocks my socks. Hence, it gets my vote.

But yeah, it lacks dem space ships an' space lasers an' cyborg chickies.
