What Epic needs is a few killer game modes, a newer, better UI, and enough polish on the toilet seat that the Virgin Mary herself would be proud to squat and take a dump.
What about a new enemy that matches Xan's infamy from UT? In UT2004 it was hard to take him seriously anymore. Not him again. WarBoss is a better option D:
I believe that's very likely because the UT fans thought GoW killed the Unreal franchise (or at least was well on the way in doing so) and because GoW made Epic shift their focus toward consoles.funny how with a UT announcement community is general happy, anything GoW related people grab their pitch forks and torches
Perhaps we'll get to see how the Skaarj look in Unreal Engine 3.0
Good luck with all the haters abound this will be hard to achieve
hopefully it feelz more like ut2004...

Consider it revenge for people blaming me for your advice.**** you. Just just made me spit my drink out with that comment. Through my nose, no less.
I'll take another UT2004 any day (strictly speaking level of improvement and content).
UT3 with a major functionality overhaul, a few tweaks under the hood, and some new content/modes would be awesome.

You may have noticed the report a few days ago that Midway was dropping all "non-core" licenses. Well, we sent off an e-mail to Epic's Mark Rein to find out more. According to Mark, not only is Midway still publishing for and partnering with Epic, but they are also working together on a "major expansion for UT3". Here it is, straight from the horse's mouth:
So far, no release plans or dates have been set. Will this be a retail package or a free download? Only time will tell.
I'll reserve my judgment on this until more info comes out.
