well you gotta take a shotgun. You can't face zombies with a shotgun. Not even in the middle-ages.(armies of darkness)

Sniper rifle for thoes tough deadies that just arnt good to get close up. A sword or knife wont need refuleing like a flamethrower.
Other than that wits the best thing to use to set your zombie traps. Use things around you as bate prefrably those zombie hunters that dont like to take baths. Who needs to smell bad in a zombie infestation anyway?
But just make shure they arnt those more inteligant undead I cant support setting a flame thrower to anything that still has feelings that can be hurt. They come back and get revenge and you never get rid of them.

The two best Zompocalypse weapons are a 12ga shotgun and a .22 pistol, because thease ammo types are the most abundant you will come across!
If zombies were everywhere I'd forget about weapons, and just walk to my local European castle and chill out in perfect safety behind such complex obstacles as moats, tall walls and portcullises
I think I'd go for the good ol' flamethrower. Zombies burn well, right? I suppose I could also throw in the chainsaw for a little bit of variety.

Then we would repopulate within the castle walls to form a new, cloistered human society that had never been outside the castle, and all they knew from birth was that there were zombies outside the walls. We would call it Camelot and declare a King Arthur (regardless of what his real name was) and create something reminiscent of an alternate history world that is some strange amalgam of medieval fantasy and cyberpunk. Eventually the castle would need to expand, though by that time most of the immediately-threatening zombies have probably rotted away, and it would be safe to build skybridges to new areas, supported only by the massive stone pillars that would become important at some point in a plot device.
