What about minimi boxes and freeweight?

I chop/change my loadouts, but one load that never changes is my AKMSU/5-7/Claymore(1x)/M67(4x) Loadout.

I like threads like this. It provides inspiratation... :)

Edit: Does anybody use stanags with the Minimi?

I tried it for a few times, Burger. But I don't like the reloading sounds / animation on the minimi. I love reloading on most weapons, M16, AKMSU or M9 for example, but the minimi and 5-7 reload is just... ugh. I don't know :p

I always carry a spare STANAG when I take the minimi. It can be useful as spare ammo (although I carry 2 boxes as well), but it is even more useful when you want to fool an enemy into thinking your going to spend the next 30 seconds reloading ;).

My favorite loadout is still the Heckler & Koch MP5/40 with suppressor and red-dot optic; second-favorite is probably the Heckler & Koch G3 from the bonus pack. The ingame G3 has all the advantages of the RL G3 and none of its disadvantages, which makes it pretty damn badass.

I guess that I will add my two cents, my fun loads consist of M16 + 20 203 nades or aksmu with 10 m67 nades.

"A woman in Milton Township, Michigan, discovered a Glock .40-caliber pistol in her kitchen. She put it in the oven. That night, the family decided to cook a pizza and preheated the oven. There was a round in the chamber, and the intense heat caused the weapon to discharge, killing a male infant who was sleeping about 25 feet away in the living room."
I really hate to seem like a kill joy but SaraP, I really didn't need to see that.

The loadout most people use IRL here:
-7 5.56 mags
5.56 rifle
optional optic or M-203 with 10 HE and 10 "light" (parachute phrospherous grenades or soemthing like that) rounds
-2 frags (1 if you have an m-203)
-helmet
-lvl1 armor at low risk operations and lvl3 armor at high risk operations (like gaza strip and other relatively dangerous operations). At war infantry don't wear any armor due to the large distance you need to walk with your gear and the hills you'll have to run up to.

What I use in INF:
M-16 type (they really don't matter collision is screwed up and they do same damage and I don't use full auto, though I think the M4 has reduced recoil for some reason).
5 mags
either trij 4x or an m203 with 6-8 nades (don't remember, but choose amount according to how slow it actually makes you go).
1-2 nades if I have m-203 and 3-4 nades if I don't. More likely less than more because if I have m-203 I'll be using 40mm and if I have a trij I'll be keeping my distance, and besides, I'm not a nade spammer.
Full protection - helmet + lvl3a. Because in INF you're very likely to get shot :D
Of course u can replace the m16/m203 to minimi with 2-3 boxes (depends on how much you actually use "cover fire" with it - 2 boxes is plenty if you just try to directly hit people with it, but you'll need 3 if you're spamming).

Bulk doesn't equal weight either.

Anyway I have now a refound love for a sub machine gun with surpressor, firing semi only and only at the back of the heads. I haven't played like this often but it's kinda cool having to retreat and go all the way around every time you have a contact, just so you can shoot him in the back of the head. I use the MP5a2 for this with sights and SD, it also looks cool this way. I'm not entirely sure if a single bullet in the back of the head always kills though (helmet), I swear sometimes I need to fire twice....

I have them set up in differing classes simply because some of the maps I use require different levels of mobility. For example, I play and imported UTmap: DM-Phobos and it is very intense CQB. The bots are arranged in different setups and teams.

Security is rather low on the food chain. Operators are set up as a security detachement, based around the M9. Light armor, and cap/balaclava.

Spec Ops teams are configured around 6-8 man SEAL teams where there are 4x M4s/M203, 2x MP5s, 1x "sharpshooter", and a SAW gunner using light armor/boonie.

SWAT has full VIII armor, helmet and black balaclava, using weapons associated with a SWAT team.

CIA teams are basically just armed with assault weapons/SMGs for quick attack/assassination stuff, light armor black rag.

Delta is a SF loadout secifically used for CQB stuff. Helmets, v IIIa Armor, and a Green Balaclava. All members have Frags for clearing rooms and such.

"Crowd PLeaser" is a single load out designed for maximum close range destructive capabilities. I rarely use it.

WetWorks is a SF-type where operators "go native" using Aks and such light armor to keep them mobile.

I have done this because my system is slow and playing online is not really possible at this time.

My personal favorite weapon is the Mk23 because its so fun to play around with. I'm also biased as I used to own a Marui Mk23 SOCOM Set (airsoft gun). I have owned several other airsoft guns and the Mk23 was, by far, my favorite.

Wow, nice organization for your loadouts. I tried to find something in there that my bots have, but most of your loadouts aren't heavy enough. I don't know where you got VIII armor from, since the maximum available in INF is IIIa with a hard plate. If you like pain, try using your Mk23 against a team of bots armed with full body & head armor and a full auto rifle (M4, Sig, AKM, Famas). Too bad you can't play online, since you sound nice.

Sorry UN17,
I had been writing an article about one of the airsoft rifles I used to have and had "version 3 (v. III)" stuck in my head. Inf has inspired many of my choices in airsoft weaponry. Most paricularly the P90 I used to have...
normal_p90std.jpg

..followed by its replacement, the G36K...
normal_g36a.jpg

If I had a camera at the time, I would have gotten pics of a few of the others.

In the next few weeks, I should be getting a new machine so I'll see if I can get some online play then. I have a few friends who may be joining us. Bwahahahaha!....ha........haha.......ha.............ok..

Just a heads up, Lucas, P90 mags should hold 50 rounds each...

No, no - he's calculating using the Nubian principals of mathematics.

Who are you to tell him his ignorance is wrong? Who are you to judge?

It'd be nice to have sub-categories in the loadout browser - such as 'Stealth' 'Assault', etc - each one with their own pop-out window. And of course, the ability to store more...

Texx: How much did those airsoft guns cost you?

I never got in to it, because it was cheaper or about the same to just have the real guns.

Granted - you can't play any 'games' with real guns (safely) - but I have a feeling that my friends would lie if they were shot during an airsoft game...

Oh - and welcome to INF. Remember, weekdays are pretty much dead. Weekends - not much better.

Your best bet is to download ISR (Infiltration Server Radar) and have that running every Saturday. Jump on the first NA (I'm assuming you're American) server you see and play until some asshole says 'TDM?!' and everybody splits onto different servers.

I should also warn you that DTAS is usually what people resort to on weekends. EAS is a lot of fun - but it's rarely played. Make sure you read a little about the DTAS gametype though - it's pretty complicated for new guys - since you can't physically capture the flag, etc.

The P90 "Standard" was discontinued due to production problems. You can find them on Ebay or other various hobbyist site for roughly $250-$300 for the SMG, itself. There is a second version called the P90 "Triple Rail" which is essentially a flat top version with two smaller accessory rails and a suppressor. This version runs about $250.

Magazines for these guns run about $30 a piece for a 60 round "Standard" magazine, and $35-$40 for a 300-round "Hi-cap." Just make sure you are looking for the "Tokyo Marui" versions as there are a few budget models that are glorified paperweights. There is also a few classic piece whice will run you up to about $400-$700. They are somewhat rare to find these days.

The G36K was a different story. It is based on the Marui G36C, which is the shorter CQB variant. Then I had to upgrade it externally and internally. The base gun was roughly $260. The kit was an addition $200, the internal upgrades ran prolly $100. Then I replaced the optic carry handle with a better model, which cost an additional $100. So, basically, the gun in the picture was about $800 total to build.

There are two new G36 variants that were just released. The CA36K and CA36 (G36 and G36K). They run about $350. If I had known they were coming out, I would have left the "project" gun and simply awaited their releae.

They aren't terribly expensive, especially when compared to paintball guns. But you can definitle spend alot on them by upgrading them and accessorizing them.

Airsofters can be pretty cool guys. It is definitely a team sport. The game naturally weeds out those who aren't team players, once you get into the larger games. There are airsoft games where 200-300 attend, making for some really large scale games. And I find it amusing that the vast majority of airsofters are gamers, as well.

I am new to Inf online, but have been following this game since the earlier mod/mutator versions for UT. I often miss the UT Weapons Mutator as the weapons were always much higher quality.

Thanks for the heads up. I hope to have the new machine in a few weeks. So expect to see me online!

I'm a huge fan of the mp5k, it rocks my face off.

Anyway, my current most-used layout is:
mp5k w/ 3x mags
PSG1 w/ 2x mags
ka-bar

I also use the mp5 w/ supressor and mk23 w/ supressor. If I need something heavier, I'll go with a SIG 551 (no accessories, mk23, m9). I honestly prefer ironsight shooting IRL, but games just can't match real ironsight shooting at long range (resolution and texture detail).
