I don't care about the exclusive stuff, I just want to have fun with splitscreen.

Maps sound relatively interesting though.

2. DM-KoosBarge - if you look at the trailer, you can catch it real quickly - it's the barge (duh!). It's more or less inspired by UT's DM-KoosGalleon. If you remember that one, then you've imagined the remake. It's still small, still pretty tight, and utterly simple. Imagine an open topped barge with fighting taking place in the small hold and on the surface of the barge. One nice touch is that the barge rocks all around with the waves.

3. VCTF-Rails -

Nope :) As Hal said, KBarge. My layout contribution to UT3. Started as a kismet tutorial to warm me up for Gears, but ended up being a lot of fun to play. :) Clawfist did all the meshing for it.

VCTF Rails = fun! Love that map.

Now tell us you will be secretly leaking the PC versions for us on a private web site. :)

Alright... so some quick details before I can write up anything else. I got to play three of the new maps and they are:

...

How does the game play on Xbox360? Smoothly? Were there any corners cut or reduction in game graphics or other differences noticeable?

I have an XBox360 and crappy PC, so it may be my only way to play this game decently (though with the major drawbacks of no custom content & having to using a @(^)@_!*#%! controller - ack). :(

Alright... so some quick details before I can write up anything else. I got to play three of the new maps and they are:

1. WAR-Cold Harbour - this is the one that we've got the concept art for (check that feature). You can catch glimpses of it in the trailer - it's pretty easy to spot. There's not a lot to this one as it's basically a V shaped node/core layout with two un-linked Air nodes flanking the point of the V. All in all, not too bad, but it's a bit smaller than I had imagined. It works though.

3. VCTF-Rails - if you like RocketTurrets then you'll LOVE this map. If not then you might not. Each team has one and a rail that runs the length of the map - yes all the way to the enemy base. It is a destroyed city type setting (not unlike any of the others in UT3) and it's medium sized though very simple. The open courtyard of each has a base structure and a few short doorways/pathways in the nearby buildings. The map is cut in half by a canal. There are really only two road routes that cross the center, so there's definitely a congestion point.

Rails sounds the most interesting of them all. Someone will no doubt remake it for the PC and PS3 crowd.

Interesting news. Being that I don't own an 360 or a PS3 it makes little difference to me. As a PC player I really don't feel shafted in the least. PC's get the Mods and the constant influx of new maps. This has always been the case. PS3 owners don't get split screen but they do get to play custom maps providing someone "cooks" it for them. MS will never let that happen.
All in all I still think the PC users got the better end of the deal. Just my opinion.
