Man Microsoft makes the coolest trailers. I don't know if Epic or Microsoft creates them but the GoW and now UT3 xbox trailers have all been great. This got me amped to play the game and I've had it since Nov. lol. It will sell well on the 360. Now all we need is cross platform play and thats it :).

Yeah I dont get whats up with the splitscreen stuff cause I swear... Like going by what Ive seen in the code it should work on any platform

Oh well not a big deal I guess, but hey any excuse to shove the "exclusivity" of the 360 and its content down our throats again. This stuff is getting worse than ringtone ads...

Mind you its been pretty good across the board lately so I cant complain, just a shame Gears of War turned out how it did on PC then the "exclusive" content might have meant something more than the studio that brought you...

Considering that Microsoft has nothing to do with this one, I'd bet Epic made it. The voiceover sounds stupid but the trailer itself is pretty good.

Also, don't forget this: http://www.beyondunreal.com/view_story.php?id=10718 Epic is good at making trailers for their games (and let's be honest, their games are dang good. Their UI lacking is only disappointing because of their track record).

Dunno why people are even surprised at the "exclusive content" thing.. Firstly it's a very logical thing to do (from a business perspective) and secondly, "exclusive" is a very relative term in the world of video games.

Oh wow, talking about "exclusive" check this out...

1. Having the power of preventing entrance; debarring from participation or enjoyment; possessed and enjoyed to the exclusion of others; as, exclusive bars; exclusive privilege; exclusive circles of society.

Certainly a word I would want to use in marketing, considering we are talking business and all :p

I just think that its giving alittle bit of a bad perception of the industry, I guess the movie biz does the same with deleted scenes etc etc but I honestly thought gaming might be above all that. You know considering gaming has been around much longer than the movie biz I just thought it might have higher morals, but hey I seen the greatest game ever played about an amatuer golfer who beats a pro and wins no money just the cup.

Just hope all this 360 stuff doesnt hurt the MSUC!

It's gonna be hilarious when Epic doesn't bother porting the 'exclusive' content to PC and people will have to rip it. Those who still maintain faith in Epic will be massively pissed!
Not really... 360 doesn't get mods... Epic needed to make it up to them.

Big deal... GoW PC content didn't make it to the 360.

Jeez, nice way to shaft the PS3 owners Epic... The big reason my friends with PS3's haven't played much is cause it is missing the splitscreen.

Someone should start a poll on what is more important, mods or ss

I believe it was Jeff Morris who said that SplitScreen in a patch is seriously getting considered.

The Xbox 360 release will contain five new exclusive maps those other platforms didn't get, two new characters and will include two player splitscreen action. All that and it also sports all of the downloadable content that Epic has created for the PS3 and PC.

 EXCLUSIVE CONTENTS.

Off course
I love it how everyone always falls for buzz words like "sports all of the downloadable content" or "exclusive maps".

Back when UT3 was announced, there were also major sites tauting that they'd ship their version with a code to get a couple "exclusive" characters.
What they forgot to mention was that everyone who was able to type "unlockallchars" in the console also got those same characters.

It's just commercial talk, that's all. "All of the downloadable content"...aside from the patches that upgraded the game from "released too early" to "pretty much done" and 3 bonus maps, Epic didn't create anything.

Surprising how tame this thread is! :)
It's because everyone is already convinced that PC isn't Epic's "bread and butter" anymore.

Xbox will never have the same amount of custom support as PC or PS3 since Microsoft is more interested in pleasing the gamers mothers then the gamer. On the other hand, if Epic manages to push just a little bit of modability in there it will be a huge break through for the x-people.

Microsoft usually know how to do advertising though, will be fun to see how the game should have been released in the first place.

Alright... so some quick details before I can write up anything else. I got to play three of the new maps and they are:

1. WAR-Cold Harbour - this is the one that we've got the concept art for (check that feature). You can catch glimpses of it in the trailer - it's pretty easy to spot. There's not a lot to this one as it's basically a V shaped node/core layout with two un-linked Air nodes flanking the point of the V. All in all, not too bad, but it's a bit smaller than I had imagined. It works though.

2. DM-KoosBarge - if you look at the trailer, you can catch it real quickly - it's the barge (duh!). It's more or less inspired by UT's DM-KoosGalleon. If you remember that one, then you've imagined the remake. It's still small, still pretty tight, and utterly simple. Imagine an open topped barge with fighting taking place in the small hold and on the surface of the barge. One nice touch is that the barge rocks all around with the waves.

3. VCTF-Rails - if you like RocketTurrets then you'll LOVE this map. If not then you might not. Each team has one and a rail that runs the length of the map - yes all the way to the enemy base. It is a destroyed city type setting (not unlike any of the others in UT3) and it's medium sized though very simple. The open courtyard of each has a base structure and a few short doorways/pathways in the nearby buildings. The map is cut in half by a canal. There are really only two road routes that cross the center, so there's definitely a congestion point.

They sound pretty sweet! Can't get enough of that taunt though, haha. Was never really big on them but the one from the new trailer is too sweet! Can we (PC) please get it!?
