Naw, Patrick Stewart is my idol. He blew up the borg, took on Moby Dick, and is King Richard. And oh, he's the friggin' head of the Stonecutters Club. It's just that at the end of the cartoon series (and iirc, at some point during the comics), he gets hate crime'd, shot, and Magneto goes "screw taking over the world," and summons some aliens to take away Xavier.

I just figure since it's the last of a trilogy and the trailer looks like it's going to be dealing more with the "humans vs. mutants vs. evil mutants" pseudo-racism angle, it might be fitting that they kill off Proff. X in the last chapter.

I would think it'd be rather retarded for Marvel to end a perfectly good franchise before the oppurtunity to flog a dead hrose presented itself.

Yeah, I dunno about end of a trilogy. I just figured that hollywood is still up for the "movie with two sequels" pattern, but now that I think about it, there's probably gonna be 4 or more.

Eh, I guess Xavier's gonna bite it at one point or another, if he's supposed to be Martin Luther King Jr. while Magneto is Malcolm X.

Which cartoon series? The recent Fox show, or the older one? I don't remember that being the end of either, although the X-Men did meet the Shi'ar in the older show (and Charles fell in love with an alien).

The cartoon series from the mid-90's ended with Xavier dying in the final episode. Iirc he would be taken away by that chick (Lilandra, wasn't it?) from another galaxy who fought D'Ken in on of the season finales.
But there're a lot of things and characters I want to see before that happens. Like Gambit, the Apocalypse and a decent beefed up Juggernaut for example.

Sabretooth and Toad don't appear to be coming back from what i've heard, which is a shame considering he's meant to be wolverine's dad i think (sabretooth). Also same with Nightcrawler, he was such a brilliant character and, i feel, carried the early parts of the x2 film.
