CNN will never show you how it is in iraq, since it would touch the feeling of some people.

And to tell you from where I saw that: It was on a documentary made by ARTE, which is not an american channel nor an arab or muslim one.

Just to hide there and think that all your country is doing is right and it is fighting for human rights and peace in the world is wrong!

Just try and watch some documentaries that are unbiased, not the patriotic stuff you are getting all the day!

Those are facts and if you don't believe it than that is your problem.

Have you traveled to iraq or any coutry that suffered from such a crisis ? from where did you get your perfect world perception?

Argh!! Stop pimping these Black and White arguments.

This entire situation cannot be simplified into one paragraph. May I just point out that in rhetoric, civilisations older than America have been far more responsible for 'Foreign Policy Atrocities'. The Eastern and European Continents are ancient in comparison, and the entire politics of the region are far, far more complex than we can imagine.

One thing is clear though. When an enemy approaches your table with death as a political bargaining chip... You destroy him before he can destroy you. But when you question the motives what do we see? The enemy is terrorism, and yet they believe themselves to be freedom fighters. They do!!

How do you deal with this?

I think our world leaders will come up with a solution eventually, indications are already apparent with a unilateral rejection of terrorism on a Global Scale. Suffice to say, an opportunity is now upon us to rid the world of yet another form of fascism, and I for one believe this is the Just Cause.

All those present contemplate this if you will - "Whom would you rather have in control?"

All those who find this too difficult to grasp, destroy your computer, disconnect your Internet permanently and repeat, "It's good to be a Taliban". Now go next door and do the same (the option to kill your neighbours if they don't feel the same is not yours).

I've worked in Kuwait (after the war), Saudi (don't recommend going there) and Bahrain (recommend going there ).
I've done some work in Crotia and Romania (only about two weeks in each though)
I've also worked in Russia.
I speak some arabic.
I have LOTS of arabic friends and business aquaintences.
I believe I know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, they're pretty balanced - well, I know that the Beeb is (ntl don't give me Skynews ). Radio Five Live have also been giving good balanced accounts.

But our stupid politicians have nothing better to do than spouting pacifist crap. Hearing a member of the Greens on TV almost made me nutz. On German-American journalist nearly freaked out in that show.
And the public cares more about some refugees or terrorists, than about their very own freedom and security

I heard the USA want to widen tapping into phonlines by the secret services. We had that very same discussion hear about 2 years ago. And you need a jurical aprroval about every little thing, and can only do it with concrete proofs.
Seeing that at least 3 of the hijackers studied at german universities, and that we probably have a few thousand sympathizers or sleeper terrorists here, makes me really think about giving the secret services more power. Some covert investigations could easily unveil possible hiding terrorits.
But in a system like ours that's practically impossible, as every m0 seems to have the right to say something or sue even the government.
People are so obsessesed with little freedoms like their privacy, that they don't realize what's at stake on a larger scale. If they are upright citizens they won't even be effected by wiretapping and such things.
This is a case of "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."
But with people, and escpecially politcians still traumatized from WWII here, it's almost impossible and a sarcrilge to be patriotic, ot sto stand up and fight for one's freedom or security

there's no need to be insulting about it, but yes i most certainally DO believe that. this thing has been Extremely well planned from the beginning. if YOU dont believe it, well fine then, but realise that it IS possible. its difficult to truely conceive of the long term planning to exicult this multipronged attack.

I heard the USA want to widen tapping into phonlines by the secret services.

Just a few minor corrections 8-4-7-2:

The FBI and Attorney General (#1 Law enforcement official in the US) have ask for increased phone tapping authority.

Right now they have to get permission from a Judge to wire-tap a specific phone number.

What they want is to get permission to wire-tap a specific individual, regardless of phone number.
They would still have to go through the normal procedures for getting permission to do so.
