British casualties currently at approx 100 and expected to reach mid hundreds.

And NATO has invoked article 5 (I think that’s the right one – an attack on one NATO member state is regarded as an attack on all members)

So I guess we are in this together.

My contacts say Bin Laden has been placed under house arrest by the Taliban, not entirely sure on who's fighting who for what there, or wether they are gonna hand him over, or sit on him until the reward gets raised, even if he did or didn't do it, the US wants him punished.

My girlfriend and I both donated blood yesterday. We also sent a few hundred dollars to the relief fund. I just saw that thread about donating technology, I think we'll donate some computers too... :/

Also, if you live in an area that has a Hard Rock Cafe.... they are taking donations to be shipped to the HRC in NY.

The Hard Rock Cafe in Tower City is looking for new items of clothing to be donated to aide the rescue workers. At this point they have exhausted their supply. The articles of clothing will be shipped to the Hard Rock cafe in NYC and then will be distributed directly to the rescue workers.

The donations are to be new and are they are asking for:
Heavy duty work socks
Work pants
Undergarments
T-shirts
Items can be placed in a bin in the lobby of the Hard Rock Cafe.

I bought a bunch of socks and t-shirts and dropped them off at lunch.

The Taliban are now calling this a rumour and they DO NOT have him under arrest.

NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani reports over 4,300 people are being reported as missing.

180 people died at the Pentagon, officials say, including those in the plane.

One Liberty Plaza and the Millenium Hotel are suspected to be collapsing soon.

They found the flight recorder from the Pittsbug crash.

Also, my friend in NY told me that someone on a cell phone called the police. She is trapped in the basement of the WTC. Could be a romour but horrific if it's not....
Peace....

They have found the black box from the Pennsylvania crash site.

They've also said that they've found the signal for the Pentagon black box.

And, police heard a woman tapping under some rubble.

It made me extremely happy when I heard this on the news. I can't think of another way for a country to show more respect for another country by playing their anthem in place of their own.

All my buddies are leaving the city for a few days to get away from the dust and the smell. I woke up with a damn bloody nose this morning.
I am filled with elation at the finding of survivors. The loss of life here is simply staggering...it's kinda hard to believe that some of the strangers you saw on the subway everyday are gone now - never even thought twice about 'em before..
