Very misleading title. There is absolutely no confirmation that the 360 version has mod support. The only thing he confirms is that he's still trying to talk to M$ about it.
You do... however... after you buy this PC... it'd be just another 200-300$ for a near top-of-the-line videocard to make it a gaming machine... versus another 400-500$ for a console.let me put it this way:
In order to have a better proccy, I need a better motherboard, which means a case to fit... then I need new RAM, an new graphics card, and new power supply... if my sound card and optical drives are still operational, I could save a swift 100 dollars there!!
I need a new PC!!
2-300 dollars would get me the graphics card.

"We know some of these great mods are going to play a role on Xbox 360, even if we have to get some people and bring them over ourselves." "We'll figure it out."
Cost *less* than a console. *Less*.
1) You're going to have a PC anyway... the cost to upgrade a typical home machine to a (fairly high-end) gaming machine (especially given the 9600/8800GTs) is ~200-300$. Most common home PCs being sold have AMD X2's and Core2Duos and 2GB of Ram... even those being sold in Walmart. (Whether you can mount a videocard to them is the question though...)
developers won't need to worry about multiplatform releases.
What happens after your console gets say 3-5 years old? They stop making games for it. Used to be more like 5-7 years,.. but is anyone noticing they're kicking them boxes out faster and faster now? I've been thinking since I first heard of Microsoft making a console that the races would get faster, the buzzwords would get out of hand, and the gamers would pay, through the nose,.. and they have.
I just plain and simple prefer my PC and it's adaptability.
From what has been written and said by Mark Rein throughout the PR cycle of UT3 it is clear to me that this issue has always been at the core of what epic are fighting for in their releases.
I'm sure Dreamcast games did too. But were any of them high profile or released by well known publishers? Most of the brand spanking new games for those systems are small time, low budget, typically homebrew productions.A Genesis game came out last year.

Well Xbox development on New Games DID END when the 360 was released ...
As a level artist and level designer I am trying to get into the game industry myself. If EPIC came to me saying they wanted to include my map in some bonus pack that would be charged for on 360 I would say NO even though it would be a great portfolio piece that may get me a job.
I am completely inflexible on the issue that user made content should ALWAYS be free. Many people in the mod community share this opinion. To me its a passion and love for games that is my motivation, not money. I wish more of our developers had that mindset because it seems work that is exclusively focused on giving the end user a better experience is dying.
