UT2Vote53 Beta

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

600k (unzipped) which is actually 585,937 bytes and UT2Vote is currently 576,311 bytes, so we have 9626 bytes to go :)
I actually managed to reduce Beta 1 by 20,000 bytes by halving the size of the UT2VoteLevel.pcx as its not often seen and a reduction in quality here will probably never be noticed.

In the servermsg gui, when you attempt to add a new message, the submit and close buttons become unselectable.
I am able to edit and submit exisitng lines that are already in the ini though.

Anyone else seeing this?

NB... The GameName must be identical to the GameName= in the GameType= string. Center
If this is True then the message will be displayed in the screen center.


this needs a '<br>' ..otherwise looks good...

Servermuts can use a mention that they apply all the time except in clan matches. We had that question come up recently.

In the messages section, is there a line length limit for the messages that should be mentioned? Is it enforced in the gui?

edit - I've been chatted up a few times and had to reiterate that the ServerMuts= and ServerLine= are meant for set in stone defaults that must be manually edited to remove/alter. When I point out to people that in the event you want to change something for ANY reason, if they set these options in the GameType= line instead, it runs just as well, but remains flexible and can be changed via gui if ever the need arises.

Ok Point taken, I'll add some more explanation on those items.
Regarding the length of the messages, yeah I thought about that and there is a length restriction of 60 characters but I reckon the admin will soon see if they overlap.
Also it depends on the TextSize to when they wrap around, so instead of a long explanation I decided to just leave it out and the Admin can experiment :)

Text where, in the readme, can do, although that measn a zillion places - maybe I can make a hidden frame, but if you mean ingame, add a space.

Ok I had a look and you obviously mean the Server messages.
Ok 1% put it inwards a little more than the chat Messages.
The chat Messages are approx 0.6% in so I put them in 0.7% - is that ok ?

Do the custom messages that get displayed use up a lot of CPU or is it nothing really?
