Right.
So your entire argument comes down to this:

Nike, Coca-cola, McDonalds and some other companies are eval because they have anti-websites based around them.

People get fat, not because they eat too much, but because restaurants herd them in with cattle prods, strap them to chairs and force feed them burgers

And you don't like Geri Halliwell.

You know, according to Freud, deep inside your angry because you were never picked for the school football team, the cheerleaders boo'd you and you have a secret love for your hampster. :)

See, thing is, Global Warming is something that's been noted before.

Historically, Ice Ages are preceded by a period of overheating and global warming, which inadvertantly triggers the global cooling, sinking things into an ice age.

Corporations aren't evil. Unethical sometimes, sure, but Evil? What's evil are the people in charge of them, so instead of blaming corporations, let's blame the people that run them, since those people are the ones who actually make the unethical decisions.

But wait, then we'd realize that it's not huge evil corporations we hate, but other people who wrong us, who need to be punished fairly. But then we get to a Judiciary system that is broken, that allows me to plead guilty to murder and get as little as 15 years.

The same Judiciary that is acting for large telemarketing firms at the moment, against the will of the people, despite the legislature listening to constituents for once, a rare occurence. The Judiciary has become unbalanced, and the system is wobbling.

Okay, unless we're talking people with fecal fetishes, I find it hard to believe that one could get a sexually transmitted infection from the sh*t McDonald serves.

Burger king is better, but that's not saying much.

There are two fast food burger places around here that I will eat at: In-N-Out and Carls Jr.

And Pepsi > Coke.

Oh, and in terms of Global Warming, *edit* removed for space. See above post for content */edit*

they should be responsible for their actions, and for anything that occurs from their actions... they employed somebody who wanks in to burgers... I blame mcdonalds for letting that happen...

Lol, so, If I worked for McDonalds. And I went psycho, slaughtered everyone in the restaurant including my management team and the staff... then McDonalds is to blame?

Wow, what a dazzling intellect you have :)

I've never seen a Big Mac commercial that claims that it is wholesome and nutritious. It's touted as a FUN place for kids to come and it's marketed as fun, fast food... to kids it is.

Oh, and kids don't buy their own Kid Meals, do they? :)

explain to me how an 8 year old is going to buy food at mcdonalds. either the parent is buying the food or the parent is giving an 8 yearold money and setting him loose on his own. neither of which are the fault of the resturant

Goddamn, if another person brings up ice ages.... :p

If you're going to mention them, at least know what you're talking about. Global warming inadvertently triggers global cooling? Maybe I just don't understand you correctly.

Warm and cold periods are not fully understood, but are thought to be brought about by several changing factors including:

The shape of the earth's orbit (sometimes it's more spherical, sometimes more elliptical)

The tilt of the earth's axis

The wobble of the earth's spin on its axis (imagine a top as it's slowing down)

How close the earth passes to the sun at its closest point

All these go through cycles, and the hypothesis about ice ages (at least the one I was taught) is that when the factors align in a certain way, the effect may be great enough to start an ice age. Also, once a cold period begins it can self-sustain for a long time because having more of the earth's surface covered in ice = more of the sun's energy gets reflected off of snow back into space rather than stored.

For the most part though, large-scale climate change is not well-understood and I am not content with 'well, nature will balance it out like it has in the past'. I would rather know before taking the chance.

When I drink my pop, I don't think about the supposedly evil, despotic corporation that produced it, nor do I think about where my shoes were manufactured, so long as they feel nice on my feet and protect me from environmental hazards. It's not as though my shirt was made from baby skins, so I really don't mind who made it.

From what I understand, deep sea current also play a very important role in the global temperature of the Earth. Heavier, salt-laden water sinks at the polar caps and flows like a gigantic river along the bottom of the sea down the Atlantic around South America and all the way to Australia, where begins to rise to the surface. This surface water then makes the same trip back all the way to the polar caps.

This effect, however, is slowing down. Measurably so. The idea is that eventually, the currents will stop completely.

c'mon, ads are aimed at kids.... mcdonalds, sunny delight, coca cola... all aimed at kids...
Yeah, and the parents are in charge of those kids. If the ads are successful, those kids want those products. That doesn't mean that every meal should be a happy-meal and a coke. Unhealthy food like mcdonalds doesn't hurt people when it's eaten in moderation. Is it really McDonald's fault if someone has no respect for their own (or their child's) body and chooses to abuse their food? Do you expect McDonalds to turn away fat people because they are eating too much of their product?

Look, people should be responsible for theirselves and their family. One of the biggest problems here in America is that the government has convinced people that they don't need to take that responsibility; that if they fail to the government will take care of it for them. And more and more people seem to want it this way. A resteraunt has food that isn't healthy, and all the sudden the government should put a stop to it? What about you don't eat the stuff if you hate it so much? Nobody's shoving it down your throat. McDonalds is the fastest of fast food. Their stuff is also the cheapest around, with the possible exception of Taco Bell. When you gain one thing, you give up another... that's the nature of life... it happens every day, ever decision you make. When you gain that convenience, you lose out on nutritional value compared to other resteraunts.

Yes, quite so. The water melting out of glaciers in places like Alaska/Greenland doesn't sink to the bottom b/c of salt content though, (the current circulation in the oceans ensures that its salinity is fairly uniform, I would guess) but rather because the glacial meltwater is so cold and denser than the ocean.
