April fools or not, I wouldn't mind a tech demo INF made in Source with a real INF made with the Unreal 3 engine when it comes out in a few years :)

As some may have noticed in the NEWS SS will make a small INF on HL2 while waiting on another engine to fully design an INF as they want to have.

I was sad a bit, but I think that aint bad news at all. Does it mean that we will have INF:Source pretty much like the actual INF? Just weapons, middle sized maps and missions?

I think that means we have a chance on a faster INF release and the core will be the first person realism (weapon handling, navigation) which is the primal thing for me.

In case some of you didn't figure it out, the whole re-addition of the AT-4 into 2.9 was just a joke.

I wish that would still be true today.

Personnally , i think it is a good idea to re-introduce it in the sentry studios bonus pack.

Not because of course there are people that will take it to play some unrealistic " Infiltration : Rocket Arena " unfortunately, but because it allowed a mapper to create a variant of the classic CD objective : an armored target only destroyable by such weapon (as before this, the only possibility to achieve sabotage objective in INF was the satchels/other explosive drop used in some maps).

Agreed, if nothing else i'd love to be able to use INF type weapons and weapon behavior in hl2 SP. Infact even though it's not what they were looking to do, i think HL2's strong single player aspect, could result in some really good co-op or campaign stuff.
