I think that I speak for the rest of the german community when I'm say:

Please release the next patch as soon as possible.

The biggest part of the german community has turned off from XMP, they don't want to wait for a game / mod without any informations or something about it. We can't do anything more, we post news about XMP, we are trying to keep the community, but it's not possible without a patch or a really playable version of XMP.

Please, release it and give some news and informations.

All I see with turrets is the increased spread of auto turrets.

Well main issues IMO are:
1.) Turrets
2.) Smoothness of movement, flow, etc. Hard to explain, but most vets know what I'm talking about
3.) Sounds: Most are not loud enough at all
4.) Vehicle number-switching makes the Juggernaut into a much more powerful vehicle, I dunno. I also don't like the abandoned vehicle=reset thing, fits for ONS but XMP is more "permanent"

1) yes, i do aggree that torrets need some work... it's very hard to see them most of the time.
2) Yes, movement is a little choppy, especially on the default map's terrain... and the ranger has some issues with movement,
3) yes, true... the turret lockon sound is definately very hard to hear... half the time i only i am being shot, but don't know from where.
4) the vehicle reset can be undone, i know how :) just need the property, bNeverReset set to true... and as for the position switching, i don't really care, but i do want the enter of a specific position fixed... it's extremely annoying enough in most cituations... as for switching... i don't mind, but sometimes i do enter the wrong spot, and i can see a good usage for it.

a project timeline would be fine -- i don't mind waiting months as long as i know; better so set an attainable date for us all to work towards so mappers can get work finished in time, players can play another game in the meantime, and freemonkey can get it finished without being bugged everyday.

the last time they did that, almost eveyone yelled and bitched at them for not being on their deadline. They are working. If it were me, i would sure as hell make all you guys wait too. Every single time FMI releases something, eveyone says "OMF you guys suck, this game is horrible, wtf is wrong with you noob FMI"
i tell you what, if it were me, i wouldn't bother doing anything else for awhile, just to piss you people off. Games take years to make, and just because you people can't wait for a good patch doesn't mean you should bash them when they do.

i wouldn't dream of whining about the quality of a free game that i love, and i'm sure they're not so vindictive as to put off a delivery date for a laugh, though it may well have crossed their minds! i read that the delay was due to some personal issues with the team, which is none of my business, true or not. either way, all i was hoping for was an estimated completion date - even a pessimistic one - that gives an indication of weeks or months, and that we can work to as well. it's just project management eh.
yay for fmi: i'm more than happy to wait for them to finish such a great game.

Jackal, there will be people with flames and something like that any time in the future! But a lot of the critics from the community was not "bad" or "nasty".

But this community is dieing, so many good players has turned off from XMP. Why? Because there is no visible movement for that game! The community needs informations, news about changes and new patches for errors / problems! (as example the tripmine bug at the artefact node, the turrets or the shotgun!)

Of course, "when it's done", but the community need some more.

Actually every larger projet has problems with people bitching around - simply because you cant statisfy everyone.
now, if it would be up to you, you would rather kill the project, then ignoring some flames? intresting.

That wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that the mod is only in a beta stage at this point... would it?

Why is this being treated as though it were a 1.0 Final?

The fact is that many player switch to other games and communities - why? There're no informations and news, and that have nothing to do with a beta stage or final version. If there are no, absolutly no news about an project like this, player by player left the boat. We need FMI and this game, but we need the community too!

You need... the community... for a mod... that hasn't been released yet?

I didn't stop playing because I "left the game", I stopped playing because it was a beta release, I played it, gave some thoughts, and sat back to see what happens next beta.

I'm not aware of a game out there that relies on artificial pumping-up of a community among open beta testers in order to succeed (except maybe MXO, which thinks that giving out beta passes like gmail accounts is going to make the text on my screen any more legible).

I think what Dragi wanted to express is that the U2XMP Community is slowly fading away . I think the UTXMP Release gave U2XMP the final death blow.
The UTXMP Comunity is simply Non-Existent because the Mod is in a far to unfinished state to be really playable. Of cause it can be played, but its buggy, unbalanced and unpolished. Right now this game is more under discussion than played...and even thats not much.

Its just that after nearly four month of nothing i would really appreciate something. But i guess all what is left is to wait for someday. "When its done!" sucks :)!

remember though too that these are people who are only hobbyists, though very good, at this. They have real lives, and some have real jobs, so it's not like they have been spending every waking hour working on UTXMP.

quite right games come second for users and designers alike. anyway we do have other games toplay while utxmp is being finished, then we'll all come back!
[personally i still have to finish hl2, chrome, comanche4, splintercell etc... looking forward to uninstalling them all.]

however doon't confuse impatience with enthusiasm -- we're all dying to play it, and that makes it worth finishing!

Brizz, please understand us! We've never said, that FMI is bad or not good. We KNOW that the FMI crew have a real life and that UTXMP is just a hobby.

But we wanna have some informations about the Mod, some news and a litte bit more than now. Perhaps one or two smaller patches, or something like this. We are really patiencly, but we see, that the community is dying. :(

We have made the project utxmp.de to save the community, but we CAN'T do anything when we don't know anything.

@FMI

We respect your work and it's great, but it's not enough for the community. (news, informations, ...)

how can something come "after" that which is not finished?

What release? It's an open beta! If it's not finished, go back to playing the finished product while you wait.

I don't think the community is dying. There are alot of people like Worf and I who are not playing simply because we are waiting for the next beta and don't particulalry like the original (due to bugs for me).
