If you go into DOS mode(or just a dos prompt) try holding down the ALT key and press 255 on the number pad.

By holding down the ALT key and hitting these numbers you're entering codes for all the ascii characters. 255 happens to be a blank space. However it's not really a space it just appears that way. Here's the trick.

If you create a directory and name it ALT+255(don't type the plus obviously ) it will show up as a space or underscore. So what? you ask. Well try to cd to that directory in the dos prompt. The ONLY way you can get into it is to type in that code(alt+255). So what? you ask again.

Well the cool thing about this is that windows 9x can't read this symbol. If you try to double click on this folder in windows explorer it will give you an error. If you do a search for any files stored in this directory they will not show up as windows cannot cd into it. You can get into this directory by going into DOS and renaming it to something normal.

It works great for storing passwords, confidential files and for those of you who have it, Pr0n. I don't think it works in NT based os's though so win2k and XP may not work with it(they may be able to read the directory).

Also there are more codes then 255 that do the same thing but I'm not telling all those.

...oh ya, I do have a "special" folder, just a small selection of beautiful women...nekkid of course

Good on you for resisting temptation! But I on the other hand am a temptee, I need my pr0n because I am only allowed on the 'net at 9 PM. And at times I need something interesting (naked) to look at when I am in full toss.

Oh, and SN I don't think your giving away any secrets at all. Neither is ummm, the guy who said we check women out when we open doors for women etc. I don't do that, especially when I mostly open doors for old ladies.

A good secret to reveal would be something like "Why do women not fancy me?" and "Do I have to dance and be social to pull girls?". Ah, such is the torment of a virgin...

btw, I went out today at a few clubs at new years, I didn't pull but my mother did. I am truly pi$$ed off and had the worst time of my life. "nixon" directory: chat log records. I take my chat records very seriously. I have no idea why, though.
"clinton" directory: porn(format - type - subtype). I had over 2GB at one point. That was before linux invaded my computer, and stole 2 GB of perfectly good HD space.

I got a folder on my desktop called Porn Folder. I got my pictures of spelunky in there.

Not that this is my case (I don't have pr0n on my Comp/share a computer), but I think it's the fact that a lot of people need to share their comps with family members .

Windows wasn't actively doing anything with it, so I could fill it with huge movies. Then I had to partition a bunch of space to linux and delete all my movies. Now I just need to get the Internet on linux working and I'll be all set .

Oh, and I hide my files so my parents won't find them. The chat logs even more than the porn.

Another reason why you kids need to get a true multi-user operating system (WinNT/2000/XP, Linux, *BSD, etc) and just block of your files.

At the very least it'd prevent mom or sis from accidently deleting system files the next time one of those virus hoax letters comes around.
