DS, I seriously doubt you can prevent it effecting you. You may not actively consider it a factor, but if you saw a 400 pound woman standing beside a nice looking woman (whatever you consider that to be) which one would you rather ask out on a date? yes, it's an obvious exaggeration but it DOES have an effect, even if you don't intend for it to.
