These threads can always be summed up as:
Congrats to all the winners, and long rants from all the whiners.

Never played the Haunted but it looks slick enough to me.
The Ball seems to have got a deserving reward, possibly just as well off as if they had won I'll bet. Nice to have my stamp in there somewhere too, even if none of that money is mine :p

Wonder if there'll ever be another one of these?

Now that MSUC is over, they can do another contest on UDK if they want to, I guess. It's certainly a better platform for it since then anybody, winner or loser, could simply send their game on to distribution channels after it was done.

And it would attract more people onto UDK I guess (not that there isn't enough inscentive already, I just want them to hold a comp on it :D).

Congrats to the winners btw. Hard work paid off I hope!

Epic has given all of the mod teams a great opportunity with the UDK, and we're definitely going to be releasing Prometheus commercially. Congrats to all the winners, and I hope to see a lot of teams taking advantage of the UDK!
Yes! I just want to hug all of you guys so hard.

Man... that would totally rock. Finding a group of people to stick together and work on a big mod for free is pretty difficult with just the vaporous promise of "potentially going commercial at the end" (whenever that is). But nothing brings a group of people together better than real cash up for grabs and a known deadline that's well-defined and set in stone ;).

If epic held even just a $50,000 UDK mod contest it would definitely bring together tons of mod teams and get tons of momentum going for UDK (and make it a whole lot easier for modders to get a stable, committed team together).

I'm happy to see that Rachel Cordone, the Angel Mapper, who was a prominent member of the Unreal Playground community, received some recognition for Prometheus.
