Fallout 3 Release 28th October

From the trailer I didn't expected a simulation, just a travel on a new location with your current gear, like a sort of short expansion. No loss here.

No, I'm not. The Gauss Rifle does 500 damage on a sneak critical, and 100 damage on a regular shot. That's more than any other weapon in the game, in terms of single-shot power. Also, I can't hit **** with the regular sniper rifles - whereas my aim with the Gauss Rifle is damn accurate.

You're arguing for nothing here. We agree on the same points. And tried the same rifles.

The starting sniper (Not Gauss rifle DP!) in Anchorage is unbelievable. I scoped at the guy's head, and I SWEAR as he was standing still, firing 3 shots at his head didn't work. So the only thing I see in that is a hopeless 0.0something spread. The fact the weapon doesn't have a large ammo stack makes it even more useless, whoshrifle.

I tried the Gauss rifle and found it to be WAY more accurate. I know how to aim. The Gauss rifle doesn't have spread - works!

Alright, I need some help here. I'm on Vista 64 bit Ultimate and this game will not stop crashing. I tried the ffdshow fix, rebooting, everything. I'm currently running older drivers due to a bug in UT3 nVidia hasn't bothered to fix, but I got the same crashes with newer drivers so that can't be the issue.

Specs are as follows:

XFX nForce 780i SLI Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad 9450
4 GB Corsair Dominator RAM (DDR2)
Onboard Sound Card
EVGA nVidia 9800 GTX 512MB DDR3

I really want to play this game but I can't fix this issue. Is there something I'm missing? I heard somewhere that Fallout 3 has issues with onboard sound, maybe if I buy a dedicated sound card?

I have to say this is really disappointing. I also have a PS3 but I feel Fallout 3 is a game best experienced on the PC, but this has got to be one of the worst coded games I have ever seen. I have literally zero issues with all the other games on my machine.

Maybe I should have said "Mirelurk Hunters.... Grrrrrrrr..."

Three Combat Shot gun blast square in the kisser reduces their health by about half.

My best results are sniper rifle to the face from a "hidden" position. One shot, one kill. Second best is using the Alien Blaster, but I ran out that ammo a loooooooooong time ago.

Gobs-o-fun: Hunting Rifle + VATS (head shot) + Feral Ghouls. (Rail gun is fun as well)

pretty much. You'll find the fallout 3 forums to be of more help, but the long of it is you got screwed. Your particular hardware and software configuration angers the fallout gods. It happens with any PC game really, you just got unlucky. Hopefully the forums can help a bit.

Op Anchorage items are really making this game easy. Combine the camo suit, sword and gauss rifle with a sneaking char and you won't find any real challenges. I just cleared out deathwalker sanctuary. The general's sword can't sneak-instakill the deathclaws (you can win a melee fight with it anyway), but a headshot with the gauss rifle seems to do the trick.
