Well like I say in my last post, you either believe in the bible and what it say’s or your not a true christen. You can’t just pick and choose what you want to believe in the book and you can’t get your morals from it either.

Despite tje fact he's banned i jsut wanted to say, he clearly doesn't know many christians at all, his term of pick and choose is very silly but nearly every christian i know has a slightly different interpretation of one aspect of the bible or another. So to all those things yous aid people can't do i'd like to point out that everyone does.

What amuses me is he's not a true christian and yet he's made more demands for me to read the bible cover to cover than any of my many "True" christian friends.

The definition by learned opinion of a Christian is one who believes in the Immaculate Conception and Ressurection of Christ. I guess I will never be a true Christian because I only believe in the Ressurection.

Not that I think immaculate conception is impossible, but because I find its spiritual meaning insulting and part of the evil aspect of Christianity used to degrade and oppress women and diminish the power of human sexuality.

In the end, I think its simple acceptance of Jesus by choice (as opposed to inheritance) that makes you a true Christian.

What I find interesting Metakill is that great spiritual leaders and political leaders were said to be born of a virgin, such as the caesars of Rome (Caligula and Nero for example).

I'm not exactly averse to the idea of the Resurrection, either. I 'believe' (belief in the non-religious sense being defined by me as a loose combination of hope and opinion) that there is something more to consciousness than electrical currents through the brain, so I don't consider it impossible that someone with enough spiritual strength, for want of a word with less religious overtones, could die and appear back on Earth... though I don't see why anyone would bother.

What goes beyond faith is how anyone who believed in the story of Christ could become a Christian. In virtually any sense of the word.

And yes, the immaculate conception is stupid, just a repeat of, as MT said, some weird fetishistic superstition about virgins.

How would an immaculate conception work, anyway? Would the baby have to punch its way through the hymen, or would the hymen break like the top of a packet of crisps as the vagina stretched?

I don't want to be flame bait but,

Religion is the redefinition of "senseless sh*t" IMO

so evolution for me,creation is incoherent and have perfectly no sense at all.

You might be interested in googleing the Marcionites if you haven't heard of them. Pretty much the first "heresy" and one of the main reasons why the orthodox Christians decided they needed a canon.

And your last statement is dead on. IMO opinion it is what a "learned" Christian would answer.

I believe that God enhanced the human genome. God didnt start from scratch. Its a fact that reverse evolution occurs all the time (parents have a retarded child and make another retarded child). What kind of God would leave us to do all the evolution?

She was raped though. If God is or was as portrayed as he was in the Bible as this amazing all powerful creator or everything that was is and ever shall be, then how can he expect a small teenage girl to understand what she was letting herself in for.

That's right folks, God was a kiddy ****ing pedophille.

I hope you're not serious.

On the other hand, I hope you didn't just say that to be funny.

Bwahahaha. Why, is he going to Hell? Could our Worf actually be unequivocally condemning heresy for once?

I still want to know how a virgin birth would work. I know we have some biologists on here.
