Ordered the Wish List last Friday. Its already in Frederick so should be there when I get home. If so I will probably take tomorrow off (Sick Leave) to do the upgrade. I am hoping to just swap out the parts and keep the HD in tack without formatting. Here's hoping for an easy upgrade. This will also leave me with the current setup for another Gamer system. My XP Pro OS is loaded on the second HD and was just updated. Will have to do a few things like remove Sound Card Drivers. I still have the 8800GTS ready to go.

OK, Got all 3 PC's humming. Had to swap Linda's Power Supply because of a 8 Pin Power Connector was needed for the 680i. I just installed 7 Pro, going through updating and loading now. It sure does connect to internet easy. Now have to figure out where all those damn settings are again I prefer. LOL

Ohio...that suck ass STATE.
I'm running 7 pro on my test machines at work. I have my desktop running Enterprise and laptop running ultimate and so far it's far more steady and faster than Vista/XP.

Aaron's Upgrade

We all know how bad Aaron needs to upgrade his system. I propose we all help out in someway or another.

Here's My List. This shows what I paid, now the question is what is it worth now? Basically, Aaron will still need a (650W or Better) Power Supply. We can assume he has a Case.

ASUS P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
Paid $209.99 (2/2008)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor
Paid $277.99 (2/2008)
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Paid $74.00 (2/2008)
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16
Paid $376.00 (9/2007)
Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5
Paid $90.00+ (2008)

Now discuss this with Pete, think it over and make me an offer. Take into account the TAZ Discount and Support that comes with the offer. Support includes installation, tools, etc. We also have a nice PC Store nearby for purchasing any other necessary items.
Note: You could be up and running this weekend with a new system!

Alrighty, the above parts are no longer available. However, there is still the possibility of Aaron upgrading his system for basically free.
I swapped systems with Linda. She was running the ASUS P5NSLI NForce570, Intel Dual Core E6600, Corsair 1Gx2 TWIN2X2048-6400 and a eGeForce 8600GTS and a 320GB Western Digital HD.
He will need a few other parts like DVD, Power Supply, etc to do a small upgrade. If you all have any spare parts speak up. Maybe this would be a fun project at the LAN.

I got bored and decided to swap systems.

All the good hardware in this house is being used. My system which might be 6-8 months old? And my old stuff that my parents got off me for dirt cheap! :( I have a somewhat decent AGP video card from my old old system... but we don't want none of that! :p

Wha?
Not gonna be around for a bit... my mouse died on me and I've only got an old 3 button to use as a spare.
So until my new one comes in, it looks like it'll be console gaming for me.

This is the one I'm ordering:

I'm not going to actually make the order til tonight, so you guys can offer suggestions... but let me go ahead and warn you; anything over $50 is out, so don't post links to those Rat Cyborg mice. ;)

I still don't understand the concept of "gaming" mice. Okay it has a few extra buttons... and is strangely shaped to supposedly be comfortable for your hands (if they're the same size and the incredible hulk's). Anyway... I do believe the one I use costs 8 or 10 dollars. :)

On a side note... Aaron's "new" computer blue screened Friday night. Wouldn't even boot into windows anymore... I reinstalled and I'm doing the windows updates as I type this.

Stupid Windows hardly ever turns the monitor off these days. I've gotten into a ridiculous habit where every time I'm done using my computer, I go back into the display settings and re-select the time delay before Windows turns off the monitor. P.I.T.A.!
