Sorry, thought you needed a case. I was trying to help a buddy out by offering a very nice MicroATX Case and gave you some options for a MicroATX Build. If you have a older Sonata II then it supports all 3 form factors and if you plan on using this for the upgrade just go with a ATX Motherboard.
Taz, I'm not trying to be rude; I'm just trying to understand. It looks like the 1.7" more in height makes the Sonata a mid-tower and not a mini. It's strange how so little makes so much of a difference, but in computer builds, every bit of space counts. I wasn't aware that the older cases would fit all form factors (though I suppose it shouldn't be amy problem for smaller boards in larger cases), this is why I come to you guys for help—because I don't know enough. Anyway, the Piano Black Sonata will become the missus', so I will indeed be needing a new tower, and I certainly appreciate your offer. Currently I have 4 internal HDDs but will probably be dropping down to 3. The specs for the case say that they will fit, but in the pictures it seems like they won't?

Lets try this.. Why don't you drive out for a visit. You can see how awesome the case is first hand. If Gabbie and Ariel want to come all the better. Let me know either way..

OK Morty I have a challenge for you:

I'm running Win7 Pro x64... my parents are running XP Pro x86.

We have an hp photosmart printer hooked up to the XP machine, set up to share, but I cannot for the life of me get the printer to work over the network from my Win7 machine.

I've gone to add a network printer, it sees it, tries to get drivers from windows update but fails. There are no drivers for Vista or 7 on the hp website. They say drivers to use the basic functions of the printer are included with windows 7. They say to use th drivers for the Deskjet 5550 or something. OK fine, but when I go to browse for those drivers, it only allows me to search for a .INF file... and the drivers (in the system32/spool/drivers/x64/3 folder) are dll's.

I cannot get this thing to allow me to even install generic drivers just so I can PRINT. I'm frustrated, any ideas?

Give me the make and model of the printer. I'm going to see about tricking the printer to be a local printer but use an older driver.

Boney or Morty, not sure this would work to get the printer running.
Install the Software in XP Mode onto the Windows7 and then hook Printer up directly to see if it works. If that works move printer back and try to connect thru the print server/network.

I know my HP likes to have the HP Software installed first before plugging the HP in.

Negative to all of the above. I think I would be ok if it was directly connected instead of shared over the network. On the rare occasion i need to print something I'll just transfer it over to their shared folder and print it from there.

File sharing works flawlessly... thats what I don't understand. It sees the printer and everything, but HP is too lazy to make a driver. Pricks.

BC, have you tried downloading the 5550 or 7350 XP drivers from HP's website? I know those folders do have .inf files in them.

Also, this worked for me when I was setting up networked printers/photocopiers at work:
Goto Add a printer, select Local printer attached to this computer, then deselect the automatically install button, click on the Create new port button, and select standard TCP/IP port. For the next part, it is going to ask you for printer name or IP address. If you have assigned an IP to the printer, then great, if not, you need to find out the printer name, which is a string of letters and numbers. I think you can get it through printing a test page, but you can for sure get it if you access the printer over the network via a web browser: just find out the current IP it is using and enter that into the browser. Anyway, once you have that information and plug it in, windows will again ask you for drivers. Why this will work over the Add Network Printer menu, I don't know, it just doest sometimes. Of course, my experience with this is in XP, so the point could be moot....

Does the printer have an network card? Some of the printers at this time came with some network ports. If so then do the IP based printing. Ice's recommendation might work but only if the server will accept this type of IP base printing.
