As stated before until he finds a a good photo of the weapon in black or whatever colour its going to be it shall remain that colour. I to think it loos like a toy but I think its because of the "water pistol" design of it.

Very nice work. Played with it last night. Keep up the good work.

Now if we can get NoFates pistol in game my attire will be complete.

Fun mute. Sounds like my old AR-18.(The G36 I played with was a "K", much louder bark.)
The optics took a little getting used to. I prefer iron sights, but that is not relative to the mod. I like it. Looking forward to the Beta C Mag for it.

Are you sure you have it enabled on your list of mutators? If you don't, you won't see it.

I am still not sure anyone has understood what I am talking about with the sight.

It would be very cool if you kept the normal aimed mode as is. BUT, when zooming in with the scope, there would be no texture overlay. Instead, the whole screen would zoom very similar to Beppo's mutator that zoomed when holding breath. If the zoom was simply increased from Beppo's mutator it would be awesome.

'course, there might be some technical issue with trying to do this, but it is just an idea.

KW, that's exactly what I did with the gunsight 2x zoom thing to simulate actual size in ra286 and I got flamed for it. No I am not doing that again. The sight on my XM8 is actual zooming, it wouldn't make sense to zoom everthing outside of the gun itself. And FYI, the zoomed sight is not a texture overlay, I'm using the actual model.

Duke after playing with the xm8 i have a few questions,

1. Do you have an actual picture of what it looks like inside the sight? Or is it just an educated guess until you can get a hold of a pic that shows the real sights?

2. I may have missed this earlier, but is the sound of it much softer? it seems to be in comparison to the other weapons.

Once again great work.

@mappie the sound is from a "M16" --> Yeah I got the sound off some cheap sound effects page. It was actually labelled as an M16 sound, but I figured what the hell :p

I am not sure if this has been posted before. I played offline with your weapon, I used the nightvision. I won a round while being scoped and using nightvision. The next round the environment as well as the bots which were close to me were light up green --> attachment (there you do not see the bots)

Absolutely. One round, i'm playing on GD, and i can see it alright. The next round, i'm on Prowler's server, and i can't see it. Meanwhile, while i was on GD, Geno couldn't see it. In either case, the gun was still here, since it fired and reloaded, but no 3D model.

Duke, you got critized about RA286 because you had a zoom on weapons with no scope. Also, people didn't like some of the other changes which aren't related to this...

Here is my last plea. If you don't like it, you don't like it.

It would be nice to see it this way. Right now, you don't seem to be taking advantage of the fact that your scope is actually modeled instead of being a cheap trick with overlaid textures. Here is some inpiration. Instead of it looking like the one on the left, it could be like the one on the right. Also, it would be nice to be able to jog this way.

The gas piston on the top of the rifle is far too slow. When you reload, it should snap into place. Just looks odd. Also, when you fire it seems a bit slow.

Probably not part of the rifle, but did you notice that when you fire the empty weapons, the left hand holding the rifle, the thumb moves slightly? Looks kinda funny. :lol:

Anyway, this rifle obviously has it's needed fixes, but good first effort Duke. Just remember that cosmetics are still a large part of the experience. Keep on keepin' on brother. :D

had a look at the hk site but cant figger out what the deal is with the 'KE' ammo - i thought all bullets used kinetic energy?

was a bit confused when i couldnt use regular m16 mags with it :eek:

its very fun having a new toy in the armoury though appreciate the hard work you've put into this mut :tup:

makes me wonder when SS is doing a weapons pack :nag:

  • Online: Cannot swich weapons mode
  • Offline: Scope Clips hudin in both D3D and OPGl
  • Note: THe mutator 'no scopes' does not disable the scope
