Well, woke up late, and went down to the central post office, which was closed due to all this (I'm in the State Capital, so they have put the central business district on hight alert here). I didn't realise anything happened til I went to the post office.

I'm going off on a rant that some of you will agree with me, and many of you will disagree.

My comments on this...

It doesn't surprise me. I think a good lot of us seen something like this coming. The reason this happened is our government has assed around with these issues way too long!

We also have a president that doesn't even understand anything outside the borders of the US and Mexico that doesn't relate to giving blow jobs to big business. (please don't respond with the Clinton vs. how great Baby Bush is mentality here, because it doesn't relate to this)

As for our military "intelligence," what happened to tha when a large object was headed for the Pentagon?

Unfortunately, our government, and many other Western governments, has placed more focus on how to stop their citizens from surfing pr0n, smoking tobacco, debating medicinal use of pot, and how to minimize the impact of "violent" video games on our society.

And I'm going to infuriate a few more of you by saying....Americans are as much to blame for this as our government.

Well, I doubt the idiots that flew those planes played Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator before they decided to do this.

Crap...gotta go...I'll try to get back on this later.

/me has a single blond babe calling him.

Take a while to think of the global impact this single event has had above 2 Nuclear Bombs dropped on Japan. Just one moment...

We see this on TV as soon as it happens, we live in glass houses, and we feel shocked when they through stones. Twenty years ago we would have read this in a paper tomorrow. Now we can all feel a part of this devastation, we can all empathise, and we can all communicate our utter disgust with a free voice. This is something the terrorists can't take away from us.

Hell yeah it's huge! Makes Pearl Harbor look like an inconvenience. I swear, anyone who hasn't seen these buildings can't comprehend what has been lost. 110 stories sounds huge, and the pictures show they are huge, but it just doesn't do them justice. I know I was at the top of one of those buildings just a few months ago, and I can't even imagine the damage that would be done to the surrounding area from them falling. The structural damage from them falling has already caused one other building to fall, and others are expected to soon. New York is going to be useless for at least a week.

...this will not "crash" the US economy. The US ecconomy is so much biger than the rest of the world that it could survive by itself. I't not going to help it but I can guarantee, if the right moves are taken, then the economy, as a whole will not be damaged too severely...

F*ck, and we all know that this will probably inspire other terrorists to execute more strikes against the US, unless we find out who did it and retaliate immediately, which we probably won't do.!
From the looks of it, the US, UK, Europe and several other countries are joining forces to fight this.

The attack was uber-well planned, and countries around the world need to step up to the plate now. Less talk, more positive action. This isn't the start of WWIII, you'd need to practically blow up the whole of NYC for that to happen, but it's enough to move countries to take some pretty serious action. The public expects it.

While I don't agree with dropping two nuclear bombs on Japan, I do think that attack was directly provoked.

Two wrongs aren't justified, but on the other hand you have to remember that sometimes correcting human behaviour requires something called an "attitude adjustment."

Anyone that doesn't think this will end by being nice is a fool! Unfortunately both Hitler and Japan required an attitude adjustment, and it worked.

The big difference with Americans today is we have to be "nice.'
Just like the idiots that go into a fast food restaurant and start blowing people away. The general thinking is..."this guy just killed 30 people, but we gotta be nice and negotiate our way out of this."

I think the record clearly shows these events end when someone says to himself 'f*ck being nice" and blows the terrorist away. (or he blows himself away)

Trust me, our government will ass around with this like they did with, and still are doing with Iraq. The US military demonstrated what we could do to Iraq, without taking care of the core problem.

Saddam Hussein is fully aware of this.

The same thing happened with Iran

The same thing happened with Libya

The same thing happened with Cuba

The same thing IS happening in China, and will only get worse!

I don't know whether this will escelate(sp?) into a war or not, but in general, wars very often HELP the economy. But yes, this is definately a setback to the problems we were already having.

And, if for some reason whoever is responsible for this happens to be browsing here: We Gonna F*ck You Up!

Not us (US)

Well they haven't confirmed the explosions were from American equipment. In fact they have stated it may be local dissidents. I'm not sure we would have retaliated this quickly anyway.

I'm sure plenty more will unfold as the night wears on....
