Finished Anzac Girls.

Despite being a well written, a very well written, history the material is comforting and harrowing. What those men and women lived through defies description.... words can't even begin to describe the horror and I can't imagine it.

Now reading this:

After this I have something on the burner to read which is definitely not related to Australia's war involvements.
Just finished reading Our Vietnam Nurses. The stories are interesting, sad and harrowing; it's war.

I've been to Vietnam and have visited some of the locations mentioned in the book. The book itself though is poorly written in places and the proofreading is laughable.

Now reading something completely different..... this:

Haven't read anything serious these days. Maybe one short story "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream"

The green mile. Just finished part four: the bad death of Eduard delacroix. Really grabbed me by the throat.
Soon starting part 5: the night journey.

For a lifelong fan of the band as I am this was a brilliant read; really great, and took me back to so many great (for me) music moments.

Just started reading this:

Garcia by the editors Rolling Stone Magazine.

"When Jerry Garcia died in 1995, people around the world mourned his death. As the lead singer and spiritual center of the traveling band the Grateful Dead, Garcia commanded a large and loyal following. This book, with its many striking photographs and illustrations and with its writings by some of rock journalism's biggest names, is a wonderful and lasting testament..."

For me that was a gem of a read. The insights presented by Jerry Garcia and other band members of Grateful Dead had me pulling out my Grateful Dead CD's and reevaluating their music all over again.

Now reading a book on Taoist science, acupuncture and medicine.

You gotta read Tom Wolfes' Electric kool aid acid test if you havn't already. Through all those books(even Kerouacs On the road) I am most fascinated by Neal Cassidy.
