And in case you never saw them, you never had to click the next button when setting up a match, even before this patch. There are tabs at the top for gametype, map and settings, just like in 2k4 (Although there are not as many options)

I was fairly sure there was a dot, just not a green one.
Doesn't UTcomp or whatever the heck they call it now have a custom crosshair thing?

I was also disappointed by the lack of options for crosshairs...I hate the standard ones

this is a common sense thing that is being left out. the options we saw in UT2004 for hud customization as well. while i like what i see so far while you're in there tweaking the UI why not tackle these things and get the patch out a bit later? would you guys wait a week or two more if it meant complete crosshair and hud customization? i sure as hell would.

EPIC can really win over a lot of the comminity by implementing some really small things. look how happy we are with the new color scheme. :) a lot of the new features, modes, weapons is just great but also drives me crazy becasue if they're going to build a high poly max/zbrush model texture it, animate, implement code, and make sure its balanced why can't we get the simple options as well.

sometimes with EPIC its like asking for a beer and getting lobster bisque, a salad, and iced tea. well thankyou!!! but what happened to my beer? all this extra conent in Gears of War but wheres my ping and why can't i type to anyone?

I wanted to try the beta patch to see if there were custom crosshairs, hud customization (size - transparency...), different views in vehicles etc... but it seems that they aren't here (my UT3 steam upgrade doesn't work)
The titan pack seems great, but i have to agree Armagon, i would have prefered waiting a bit longer and have those options, those little things which sometimes make big differencies, and which are important to me... (the fact that we cant have a true and good cross in crosshairs choice is unacceptable...)

Nevertheless, thx epic ;)

Epic Games has been quietly working behind the scenes on a M-M-MASSIVE update for Unreal Tournament 3. However, the most exciting news may just be that this is only the beginning - a very small part - of what they have in store...

* SUMMARY OF MAJOR FEATURES:
* Major enhancements to Server Browser
* Visual and menu flow overhaul for improved useability of user interface

Could the players not expect a little effort put on the cutomisation of ingame HUD and crosshair system? like in previous editions of UTs?

To me, have customizable option of crosshairs and HUD is far more important that have a lot of graphical advanced settings, even if its always good to have lot of options to tweak in the menu and not in the ini. HUD and crosshairs are a part of the UI settings... ;)
Epic continued to support UT3 and its great, greed, betrayal and titan seem really fun, but in a major update, i was waiting a MAJOR update to all point of view.

Actually the titan pack "just fix" the game, as it should have been at its released date (and its good!), but there are little but important missing features to my eyes ;)

With all due respect, the general public rarely gives a **** about customizable crosshairs. That's something that can be done as a mod.

As for the HUD, I don't see what really needs to be customized. And that could likely be done in a mod as well, or maybe even a mutator.

Far more people, on the other hand, complained about having to go into the INI to edit advanced visual settings, even though that's what many of us have been doing for a decade. Thing is, a lot of the people playing now aren't that technically adept - they just saw a couple sliders that changed a bunch of settings and declared that the visual settings were "consolized." If the options aren't right there in front of them, they'll cry about it.

I hear what you're saying. I like those things as well, but unfortunately, they didn't make the cut. I think some of those appeal mostly to the more competitive players and not the general public and it may have been a matter of them doing what they believed the most people wanted. You know - weighting their priorities to spend money where it was the most effective.

Just guessing.

Perhaps some clever person could make a mutator that takes care of some of those requests? :)
