UnWheel [BETA] Server up!!!! :D

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Well as you can guess by the title after a bunch of work trying to get this beta up and running on linux only with text I got it working! :) Its the same IP as the other server.. as a matter of fact it is the other server as I took the old one down and am only running the beta for now. The name is close to the same... just has [BETA] in it. Of course its the only beta server I am aware of so it should be easy to find! I did a lot of messing around with the UnWheel.ini file so please post ALL SERVER RELATED PROBLEMS here!!! If you noticed the bug in single player too don't both posting it here, but if you notice something new that never happened untill you played online post it here. Also, any changes you think might be for the better on the server as far as map times / scoring rules or whatnot let me know. Hope to see you all this weekend doing a lot testing of this beta online for once! :D Also, Craze... you have been unbanned for this testing and will remained unbanned unless you give me reason to ban you again so enjoy.

Looks like there are still old UW pachages in there though :)

It's wanting to download UnWheel_Vehicles02 (In the UT2004/Animations directory). I stopped it at that point, but there are probably others as well. Also make sure those UnWheelSCars .int files and things are gone from the UT2004/System directory.

Ahhh good call. Forgot about that old stuff. Should I delete everything unwheel that is not in the UnWheel folder??? I'll get on deleting some of that stuff tomorrow as it could take some time to go through. As long as people still have the old files for now they should not have to DL that stuff. I assume I should also delete all of the 'Serverpackage" refferences to UnWheel as well that are in the UnWheel.ini??

Also, did all the cars show up twice for you (a few of the 2nd ones were clear looking too)??? Or is that more of a client side issue of me still having my old UW stuff on my windows computer (that I game on)?

Definitely should delete all UW files outside of UT2004/UnWheel. That's the joy of -mod, no extra files :D. Unfortunately running the new UW on the same installation as the old one, will result in conflicts, and things like duplicate car listings (on the client).

You shouldn't need *anything* in your UnWheel.ini ServerPackages for UnWheel, just the regular UT stuff and whatever mutators or whatever else you want running, but no UnWheel ServerPackages are needed.

ya well .. I typed that at what .. 2:30am after I had been up sence 7am... what more do you want from me?!?!? lol. :lol: Plan on doing that stuff this evening shrimp... hopefully it works :) I'll let you know when its been done so someone can test it.

Ok .. beta server is backup. I tried to delete everything I could find that was the old UW from every folder but the UnWheel beta folder. Hopefully that fixed the package loading problem you were having shimp. Let me know how it goes! :) Oh ya... and this server is running in a seperate UT folder so should things go sour I can still bring up the original server :p

Everything looks good on the server:) Only two problem; one we created with speed:p A little lag goes a long way:lol: Second, I occasionally start on foot, walk up to the vehicle and hit "U" to use the vehicle.

Did you delete all your old UW stuff???

*also... I will not be at tonights burnout because its my friends 21'st and I need to help send him off into the life of a drunk! But hopefully all goes well tonight and we can test some more tomorrow night! :D *

I haven't had time to run the beta yet, and was hoping to test it on the server. Single player mode won't show as many possable bugs as online play.
Oh yeah....Jerdaygo, are you going to put your server back up?

I am thinking of trying to get one up tomorrow, no promises, and I dont think I will have time to make it nice with map vote and all, but maybe, my server has been formatted since I hosted my UW server so it has to be totally rebuilt.

ahh ... just got back.... not to with it but I can still read and type so i guess im good (I hope so .. drove my ass home ... lol .. shhh). Anyways.. it looks like steve was the last one on it before it crashed. Shrimp.. if you want I can send you the error log.. let me know! This might be game related so this might be important!

I'll be on tonight for sure guys to do some more testing and would like there to be at least a decent amount of people (as long as something does not come up I should be there anyway) :)

Also shrimp... a few times yesterday when I was playing with Adam... I would win the race and would have a better lap time... but he would get a 3rd all time lap record while I would get nothing at all. Sounds like a bug to me.

I think I just broke the server again. I played a rally map on my own and when it was finished I voted on the next map, but the next map never loaded, so I went back to the server browser and tried to find the server, but it was gone.
