If you don't like a mutator that an Admin is running PM or e-mail the admin and ask to remove it. If you want the developer to make changes PM, post or e-mail and ask politely and clearly state your reasons why you wish it changed.

Sitting on a server spewing complaints while others are trying to play is ****ing stupid and does not help. The Admins make the final descision on what runs. Don't like what they run ask to change. If they say no either STU and have fun or STU and leave.

Guys, as much as I want to be a black sheep, I can see where NT is coming from. I think he's referring to all the mutie talk on the GD servers lately, especially concerning strafewhorenomore. I was on when they first uploaded it on the server, and all it got was negative reviews. People were complaining that the bleeding was bad because you couldn't heal it. They didn't even give the mutator a chance - it was JUST uploaded, and everyone was complaining about the fact that you needed to load bandages in your loadout.

It seems awfully contradictory to say that everyone wants realism, but then when something as realistic as that is attempted to be implemented, they just biatch about how it's annoying. Yes, bleeding, IRL, is annoying.

As an interesting side note, it seems that whatever Duke (and the now lost Toad) does/did will face harsh, tactless criticism while other muties are generally spoken of with great civility, even if there are flaws.

Anyway, I could go on and on and rip into several people, but that'd take too much of my time. I apologize if this is NOT what NT is referring to, but it's what I saw when I read his post.

I just realized that I am defending a complaint about RATIONALITY on the forums. I'm a fukkin' dumbass, ignore this post. :p

NT does have a point [to a point], like Taque says above. However, I wished he worded it in a different way.

Cristicism/Opinions are good and should always be welcomed but tactless criticism/opinions or just saying this suxs! should be shoved up deep into your butthole.

Actually NT got it right, although there is a typo with lotion, I think it is spelt sand paper, (damn second time this month I have agreed with him which can't be good). The fact is we have tried to be nice and polite on the servers. Doesn't seem to work. It is starting to appear to some of us that open hostility is the only answer. I am myself has tried reason and feel that I have wasted my time for the past 2 years.

The feeling is a little different in a real situation. You must have a limit, or at least build on the steps slowly.

I agree. However, the 1337 speak is really obnoxious to the point where I question your motives when it comes to modding this game.

I did say, "this is gay, take it off" because, to be frank, it is. It could be done correctly to the point where it would be essential to worry about your team members (which I agree, nobody does in INF), but it would most likely require a better gametype.

I welcome the idea. However, when you have things like 1337 messages, it really kills the mood.

It all comes down to 'what is possible on the UT99 engine' and my guess is, 'not much'. Better to leave it out entirely than to half-ass it if you ask me.

Then again, you could surprise me and make it work somehow.

Well the 1337 is not even in there anymore. See, changes can happen if you are nice to the coder. Cracwhore, it is not gay, which IMO is rude to say to someone that is at least trying something different. Does it need work/adjustment? Yes I think it can be better. Time can only tell...than is if Duke does not get pissed and say ****-it.

I cant believe this ****. I come back and this thread is FULL OF OPINIONS. AIIEEEEEE *goes to blow his brains out*
 that was funny :)

On a more serious note, I can't agree more with what Odie said. People are trying things for the game. Don't like what they did, think they have flaws? Don't yell at them, explain things in a civil manner if you want him to change/make them better, that goes for everything btw.

Edit: kinda instaposted.

Didn't see the update yet. Glad that it's gone.

And under what circumstances is 1337 speak not gay Odie?

The problem with the bandage system is that it's just not realistic right now (and probably never will be on UT99). I would rather have it be extremely 'annoying' than to have a quick fix-up job that enables me to be 100% combat effective again, within seconds, without the aid of others.

Again, the problem is that bullets don't do enough damage. That and player models don't accurately wound (or wound at all really). You can shoot somebody twice in the knees with a .45 and they'll turn around and mow you down as if their kneecap hadn't just been obliterated.

Probably has to do with the limitations of the engine, to which I say, 'don't bother making anything else ambitious'. I'm pretty sure UT99 is maxed out as it is. I think it's more important to make a proper damage system personally...but since that's not even really possible with UT99...

Basically, **** UT99.
