Why are people whinging about the 1911 still? If you don't like it, don't use it. There's a few guns in 2.9 I hardly ever use (shotgun, AK, FAMAS) but it's nice to know they're there for variety.

Oh, and how will the soldier "decide" which sight to use on the G36 when you shoulder it?

To clarify slightly, it only really works with slugs, and tends to be annoyingly cumbersome. You can try and suppress shot, but you'd be hard pressed to notice any practical difference.
