Moving on, I bought a used Audi A4 Quattro this summer. It is an overall sweet ride, solid build, turbo, quick and agile, plenty of aftermarket performance extras and it been very well-maintained. My only complaint is that while the sound system is decent (ambiguous usage of the word), there is room for improvement.

Thinking about getting a 7970 GHz Edition card. Any thoughts?
(I mean any that are not getting an nVidia instead)
If you have no beef with AMD then go for it. I'd recommend going for the non-GHz edition as it's slightly better bang for you buck. Isn't worth the extra cash for the slightly higher clock frequency. You can overclock pretty easily to those speeds.

It's an expensive card for what you get out of it. I also wouldn't be surprised if Nvidia whomp it with a cheaper, superior card within a couple of months for the third time in a row.
Nigga wut? The 7970 is known to be tremendous value, especially compared to the nvidia counterpart. The 280X is quite literally a rebrand of the 7970. Even with the 280X being more expensive than the 7970, the 280X is still good value. So that speaks for the value of a 7970. Nvidia tomorrow is cutting prices significantly (for the first time in a while) on the GTX 770 and 780 just to stay remotely competitive with the value AMD has been offering.

Wait a while for a reviewed R-280x that is coming with a newer chip.
Are you talking about the rumors of AMD updating the 280 to XTL Tahiti from XT2? I wouldn't wait on that. If the performance is better, then the price will most likely adjust with it.

Yes. And I don't agree regarding price adjustment. Even you said that Nvidia will lower their prices

Edit: I don't also see "tremendous" value on a 7970. On a 7950, sure. Or maybe it's the prices in Portugal: 210€ for a 7950 and 300€ for a 7970

I think if they release an updated 280X it will be given a name like 285X or 280X GHz and an updated price to go with it. Every time Nvidia has had to counter something AMD has made, they have done it by releasing a product that competes with the performance level and price it accordingly. That's the whole point of releases like the 780 Ti, 650 Ti, 560 Ti, etc. This is the first time in years that Nvidia has cut prices to compete with AMD. I wouldn't bet on them cutting prices again for a new 280X unless sales were really hurting or AMD really catches up with future generations.

And yeah, the price differences between the 7950 and 7970 in the USA are no where near 30%. Most of the "nicer" 7950 models are the same price as the cheaper 7970 models.

Home Alone is awesome.

I just bought a Nexus 5. Probably the most polished Android experience I've ever had. Everything is so smooth. Love that it's not tied down to any carrier and there's no bloatware.

I had a different one by the same manufacturer for about 6 years:

Unfortunately last weekend the battery failed and leaked causing it to overheat (the plastic started to soften) so I had to throw it out. This model is still in production and I thought of just getting the same, but then I found out that new one has 25% more power and about 60$ cheaper, and takes less space, so...
