A lady friend of mine told me she wanted something simple for Valentine's Day.

I think this is.

Emerald because she was born in May. (or something.)

1 Memorex BD-RE, and a 10-pack of Verbatim BD-Rs from OfficeMax.
Hey, chances are, what I want to make into an optical drive will probably well surpass the 4.7/8.5GB threshold of a DVD. :)

Slowly picking up parts for a new PC build later this year:

1 x LG Black Blu-ray Drive SATA Model UH12NS30 - OEM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136268
1 x ASUS PCE-N15 PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate Wireless Adapter
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320074
1 x Pioneer Black Blu-ray Burner SATA BDR-2209
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129076
1 x Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro - 64-bit - OEM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832416778
1 x Hauppauge 1213 WinTV-HVR-2250 Media Center Kit Dual TV Tuner
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815116036

As I said, I'm taking it slow and small for now, then as we learn what new GPUs and CPUs are on the horizon, I'll certainly do my best to take a leap into those when they become available, and any new motherboards.

EDIT: I know, why two BD drives? Well, that way if I'm recording one TV show from the Hauppauge onto one, I can be watching a Blu-ray movie, or playing a game off the other.

ASUS VG278HE Black 27" 2ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 50,000,000:1 Built-in Speakers 3D ready, Height, Swivel adjustable

...and yes, I DO have an nVidia 3D Vision 2 kit, thank you. I've used it with a 32" 3DTV, but felt a dedicated 3D monitor is much better to use. Newegg keeps selling out of the 24" version, so I had to settle for the larger size (and who wouldn't want a larger size monitor, anyway).

Ah now I see the edit. Let me know how that TV Tuner works. I want to make a HTPC myself one day.

Yep. Hoping to make it a basement rec room Gaming HTPC. I'm currently on my old build, which I just have as a bedroom HTPC with an older TV Tuner and hardware...because with hardware that I've had since Windows 7's launch, I doubt that would certainly fair well with today's gaming standards, that's for sure. :)

I have Pro 10 atm but there's some new features I really wanted to use in 13, so I bought the upgrade because it was half off of the already discounted price and I ended paying less than 160$ for it vs the 299/599 it usually is.

Decided to pull the trigger on the storage and boot drives for the rig I'm putting together. Probably might wait until late March/early April to get the BIG TICKET components for my build (MSI Gaming GTX970, and the MSI Gaming 7 Mobo, i7 4790K, RAM, etc...)

I keep forgetting to post what I've been buying here.

Today I bought The Talos Principle, which is the newest game from Croteam (Serious Sam devs). I got it after playing the demo, which was really pretty f*kin cool. I've only played a little but I think I'm going to really like it.

Heard the book was better than the movie. Having seen the movie, I'd probably agree.

Moon however, was amazing.

So they say. I'm halfway, and it's an excellent read. I feel the world, how these people move about/how they feel in the deepest detail. A mesmerising beauty, bathed in the darkness and desperation yet despite that I find it not to be crushing nor depressing. His play on words (?) really hypnotiszs you.
As for the movie, I liked it and think that Vigo mortenssen did a great job. I really don't want to compare the movie to the book. Not in this case I suppose.

Moon has always been one of my favourites.
