What seems more important is to change regularly the order of the maps within a given rotation, because since the gaming activity always starts around the same time every day, if you're used to play at regular hours you have a good chance of playing the same maps every night.

I did notice that the three times i connected, it was the same 3 maps, and those times were hours apart.

Ya, InnerCity will be back.

Why? Newbies will see a 20MB download staring at them, and decide that the game isn't worth the wait, and quit. One time, the download took so long, that UT actually thought it was a 'timeout'.

And as though it isn't enough to have such a long download, not only is the map nothing more than 'meh' and "stupid gun keeps bumping into everything" and "HOLY **** loud music!", but any CQB map is a terrible DTAS map unless the capture radius is drastically reduced.

Downloading large maps is kind of a fact of life. I offer a fast download redirect and the majority of the users we cator to are on broadband so I will not let map download size dictate the map selection.

That said I agree with the loud music. It does suck.

1. There are no newbies in Inf anymore. And even if there was, i don't see why we should be deprived of playing good maps just to please their bandwith.

2. The map is available at CM, RM, and on clanterritory's ftp.

3. Innercity, a 'meh' map ??? BLASPHEMY !!!!!!!!!

4. Don't take the shotgun, and TURN HARDWARE SOUND OFF (it's in the readme btw).

I know you have a fast download redirect, but when i tried to use it for Innercity, it 'pulses' (Downloads at about 100kb/s for a second, then pauses, then repeats), and it resulted in me waiting for about 10 minutes and then UT decided that i would never connect and reported a 'timeout'. I know i can go to combatmaps to get it (which i had to do), i just didn't want to have to :p

I certainly don't think size should dictate the quality of the map either, but as i also said, isn't it a bit CQB for DTAS? You could technically be capping a flag while in a house across the street or something similar. If there would be a way to configure cap size per map in an ini, that would be one solution...

Shan,

I do not know it you recall but this is what I was complaining about with your Fast D/L. This same thing still happens to me when I connect to your Redirect.

I think something is not right with the service that you are using.... If downloading is pulse'ing, then perhaps this also effects game play too. Assuming that the Redirect and Game servers are in the same house.

I forgot to add it to my list. I read the map suggestions from ClanTerritory and that one was either not on the list or I just missed it. I am sure some of the new maps will have to come off as people find issues with them and I will try arid out.

The pulsing does not happen to me. But yes, Odie and I looked into this before and could not figure out what was going on.

Did the pulsing just start for you Derelan? I as because I recently moved my TDM/DTAS fast download Redirect to the same server I am hosting the GhostDogs redirect on.

FYI: I moved back to my hosting site for the D/L redirect awhile back (others where complaining about the difference). Plus it did not correct the Linux D/L issue like I hoped it would. I am kind of using yours as a hot backup [hope you do not mind that].

I noticed the pulsing the last time you made a major change, I don't recall exactly what it was, but it was around early-summer/late-spring.

Could somebody post links to all of these non-standard mutators and maps? I would like to play on your server, but the DL is so long I get disconnected.
