Dude, everyone knows that ship was crap - you were a huge target :p
Better than the start ship though.
Privateer / Privateer 2 for the win.

But you could put fast thrusters on it and get away because it had some serious shields and hull.

Have you seen this free open-source remake?

I just found it last night when looking for pics of the Orion. I am gonna install it tonight! :D Weee!

I'd like to be able to get the second one working again, my cds got shot and it was, quite simply, a lot better on the actual game side, though the story was probably weaker.

The top ship was simply delightfully fun to afterburn through asteroids... but the second one had better ships ;)

Freelancer caught the spirit of privateer mind, shame the story was about 1/10 the length.

Yeah I was disappointed with the Freelancer story too. :(
The rest of the game was pretty good. I just wish they had made the difficulty of areas more logical instead of just based on the direction of the crappy storyline.

I figure someone by now would've posted Homeworld ships. But since that isn't happening...

There's something cool about a giant space horseshoe that pops up and offers to either trade stuff or tell you the story of how you were exiled and all that.

And for a buncha enlightened monotone talkers they sure were suicidal.

Oh yeah that's an awesome ship.

Homeworld is an awesome game.

And for a buncha enlightened monotone talkers they sure were suicidal.
So you'd rather become a slave to an alien race bent on destroying your friends, with a ship FAR more powerful than anything your friends can even dream of?

Yeah, there's that, but then there's also...
Scuttling your last remaining ship when you come under light attack, hereby fedex-ing your space-faring people to total extinction.
:p

All you people posting pics of the movie version of The Heart of Gold! What about the original? It was running shoe-shaped, and if I could find a decent pic (other than the Lego version, which IS pretty cool) I'd post it.
