Trying to get Emulation driver working again after disabling for other reasons and it won't work. Deleted the devldr16.exe file a while back and have been told I may not need this if rebooting to DOS for sound in DOS games. I get an error message in DOS when normal booting like this:
error: SBIRQ conflict with PCI IRQ. Creative SB16 Emulation Driver not loading.
Also, get a long beep while rebooting. This would indicate an error I assume. UT works fine and so do other games. I'm just trying to get Duke3D running again. Here's my slot assignments and present assigned/available IRQ's (some IRQ don't change, I've also disabled COM ports):
AGP-ATI Rage Fury
PCI1-Voodoo2
PCI2-Promise UltraATA100 Controller
PCI3-SBLive!Value
PCI4-Ethernet card
IRQ's:
3-ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering
3-32-bit PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter
3-Intel 82371AB/EB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller
4-ATI Rage Fury
5-Creative SB16 Emulation
9-SCI IRQ used by ACPI bus
10-ACPI IRQ ........
10-Win95-98 Promise Ultra 100 Controller
11-ACPI IRQ ........
11-Creative SBLive! Value
I have a P3-500, 256MB SDRAM PC100, 3 optical devices (Kenwood 72X CD-ROM, Sony CRX-100E CD-R/W, Toshiba 4.8X DVD-ROM) and 1 HD (WD 20GB 7200 rpm) all hooked up to main master controller, WD 20GB 5400 rpm hooked up all by itself to Promise controller, running WIN98SE on Gigabyte GA-6BXC motherboard. Also, using Razorboomslang mouse in USB port.
What the heck is SCI IRQ used by ACPI bus assigned to IRQ9? Also, why is it saying IRQ conflict when none show in my device manager and the DOS emulator has its own, not even any ACPI IRQ Holder ???
Also, the following assignments match in device manager and DOS SB assignment line in AUTOEXEC.BAT:
SB PORT - 220
MPU 401 PORT - 330
ADLIB PORT - 388
IRQ - 5
8-bit DMA - 1
16-bit DMA - 5
Besides reinstalling SB drivers, does anyone else have any ideas about what might be happening and ways to solve it?
