It's a freakin' debate. If we all agreed, it wouldn’t be much of a debate.

Who is questioning your right to disagree? Your pretense at ignorance here is amusing. Naturalism is not a 21st century concept you can call it Evolution all you want to. My point is you are being an intellectual snob while hiding behind theories to push a religous agenda. You are free believe what ever you want just don't be a coward about it.

I said this before somewhere in this sea of replies, but since you talk about not having room for a god, I'll mention it again. I believe we are not alone in this universe. That there are many other civilizations out there, some far more advanced than we are. Out of all these civilizations, there is probably one that is the most knowledgeable. Out of that civilization, there is probably one being that is the most knowledgeable and can do more than the other beings.

O.k. if this is a comparison to the GOD of Abraham. What is your point all you are doing is expanding evolution to encompass the rest of the Universe. The Biblical perspective is pretty simple the space and time in which we exist did not always exist it was created by GOD.

If you want to call this apical being god, then I believe in a god. I think there is a being in our universe that is superior to all other beings.

So let me get this straight now, you say there is a superior being. How is your theory here any better than believing in the GOD of Abraham.

The god I just described, my god, doesn’t make promises or tell about future events. But it’s possible my god could if it wanted. Does this make your god better than my god?

Well as far as I can tell he did not, maybe he is on vacation in the celestial Bahamas. ;)

I don’t even know what you’re talking about here. You posted something like this:

“No, you are just by products of your faith as with most other religions you are just here to knock someone else’s faith.”

And I responded that this is a freakin’ debate. We’re here to debate. Of course I’m going to knock your faith. I think it’s wrong. Hence the debate. Yes, that is why we are here.

“My point is you are being an intellectual snob while hiding behind theories to push a religous agenda.”

What the hell is that supposed to even mean? I’m not trying to push any religious agenda. I think the idea of religion is ritualistic and I don’t agree with it. An “intellectual snob.” Thank you for resorting to name-calling.

“What is your point all you are doing is expanding evolution to encompass the rest of the Universe.”

My point is, you mentioned not having room for a god, and I just explained to you that I have room for a god if you want to call the apical dominate being in the universe god. I was responding to what you said here:

“Since your religions do not have room for a GOD is it a miracle that you do not either?”

Then you go on by saying:

“So let me get this straight now, you say there is a superior being. How is your theory here any better than believing in the GOD of Abraham.”

That’s not what I said at all. Here is specifically what I said:

“If you want to call this apical being god, then I believe in a god. I think there is a being in our universe that is superior to all other beings.”

You. You. You. That’s the keyword here. I said if YOU want to call this person a god, then I believe in a god.

“How is your theory here any better than believing in the GOD of Abraham.”

Again, if YOU want to call this being god. I don’t call this being god. Since you’re enamored with the idea, why is your theory of the god of abe better than mine?

I’ve said this before in another thread, but I'll repeat it for this thread:

Let’s take a carbon atom as an example: Today, we might breathe in a carbon atom that was once part of a tree before it was burned down. Before it was part of a tree, it might have been part of a fish. And before that, you get the idea; the same carbon atom will be around for eons.

Let’s say that atom stays with me and becomes part of me for the rest of my life. When I die, I rot away and this atom is released to be part of the universe again. We are a part of the universe. For a brief period, we are assembled in such a way that we can ponder how we came to exist.

The point is, we will always be part of the universe and that’s a beautiful thing.

Yeah but atoms can't have sex or go the movies.

Well, an atoms will eventually die, but that takes a long time. But according to string theory, everything is made up of tiny packets of energy and energy is never created or destroyed. So as an atoms dies out, the energy that it's made of stays around.

HUMANS DO EVOLVE.

just like plants and animals, our immunine system evolves to combat different bacteria/viruses/etc.
we might not evolove to be as quickly resistant to those things as insects, but resistances still do build up from gen. to gen.
