Advance Wars Days of Ruin: 8/10
I don't care what you think, the deeper and darker storyline IMO make up for the things removed from Dual Strike. The naval units have been completely rebalanced, and the map editor is much better.

Mario Kart Wii: 8/10
MOTHER F****** PIECE OF SH*T REVENGE AI. THOSE LITTLE B@STARDS JUST HAD TO FIRE A BLUE SHELL RIGHT BEFORE I CROSSED THE FINISH. AND OF COURSE AFTER THAT HERE COMES BOWSER AND HE IS A HEAVY CART WHOA HE RAMMED YOU OFF INTO THE LAVA. ok now your in 10th but hey you just picked up a bullet bill. BUT NOOOOOO RIGHT BEFORE I CAN USE IT I-have-the-most-annoying-voice-in-the-world-daisy USES HER LIGHTING AND BYE BYE ITEM. BLARGHTOGNEDFKLFASSDddddddddddddddddddd

Other than that online is fun and points for adding the blue falcon.

Duke Nukem 3d: 9/10
God this game was soo much fun. Although it doesn't have as good controls as all other FPS's, the gameplay and Duke's voice acting are completely awesome. I'm glad I reinstalled the game.

Thats the one reason why I havent bought it yet. Mario Kart 64 was notorious for this bull****. I think I will stick with the DS version. I noticed the cheap tactics are less prevalent.

I thought It was much worse in the DS than 64. In the N64 version, the blue shell affected everyone, not just the leader, so It was somewhat more balanced.

But the online in Mario Kart Wii can hold la lot of people. (the most I have been in was 13), while the DS only has 4. Also in Wii, the Drift Boost has been nerfed. While it balances out snaking from DS, It makes the game more of luck than skill.

Devil May Cry 4 8/10

Never played a DMC game before this one and I was only familiar with the anime series with the same name, so the only expectation I had was guys with massive swords. Extremely stylish. Played through the entire game once, on the easiest difficulty. Had quite a bit of trouble at the start but now that I've completed it once I'm going through the second difficulty without even getting hit by regular enemies anymore. It is fiendish.

Plus most of the cutscenes put a smile on my face :)
EDIT: no perfect score because for the first time in ages I finally have blisters on my thumb.

Sorta game that has it's moments but frankly misses the boat a little. Could've been so much more, and at times, feels a bit like a cashgrab instead of a real effort to make a game.

Not going to rate it. I was bored as hell.

Meh. I agree.

Played it at a mate's house before we went to a party.

Played the drifting gametype and I couldn't turn the car more than 15 degrees either way.

Not to mention the horrible menu interface, I had to look at each option for 20 seconds before I figured out what it was I had selected.

Ok so I've finally stopped playing Crysis long enough to try another few titles I've passed up

Most recently I got around to Need For Speed: Most Wanted. It was the Black Edition so there was some extra crap but that was all "meh" to me. Other than Gran Turismo for when I need a more realistic experience, NFS is my favorite series for a good racer that's sort of arcade but still feels hefty. I had heard a lot of conflicting reviews for MW and had tried Carbon but didn't like it.
Most Wanted was really enjoyable and actually turned out a lot better than I thought it'd be. I play with the music off other than in menus, when I'm driving I hate most of those EA Trax and they get old fast. The engine sounds are what I'm all about from the low revs to wide open throttle with my volume way up. NFS always delivers on those notes.

They mixed the classic NFS gametype of cop chases with the newer feel of playing in sort of a sandbox in the way you advance. You drive around the city to race in the events you choose and gotta' dodge the fiveOH as well as the traffic.
My only complaint was that as you get to the top tier of engine upgrades your opponents gain the whole "catchup" AI. This is where, once you're ahead, your opponents are allowed to go faster and drive more perfect than usual in order to keep the race close. When you're behind, they slow down. But again this is only when your car, thus your oppenonts, has its final level of engine upgrades.

Otherwise I give it 2 Smirking Jacks* up. I guess that means I liked it and won't be uninstalling it... yet.

*7.5/10?

Jack did you try Grid? If you did how do you like it compared to NFS?

Not yet. I'm getting back into the racing thing though since I busted out my steering wheel and pedals and installed it back onto the front of my desk. The wheel even has a functional shifter on the right and the pedals on the floor include a clutch for games that support it.

This is getting me hyped about sim racers again, as opposed to arcade, I love the realism. I had heard GRID is sort of stuck between sim and arcade though. But I'll probably get around to firing up the PC version soon and see for myself, the visuals certainly look promising.
ETA 4 hours... from the uh, warehouse, where I am uh, having it shipped from. Yeah.

SPORE: CC - 8.8/10
Gets boring after a while since there's no gameplay just create and create which makes you want the September game even more. But it's still interesting to see what the community can come up with.

Hey you know my passion for the games I like. Detailed reviews are one thing, a really detailed score (without an explanation, no less) is another.

Going by halves is fine, like 8.0, 8.5, 9.0 but "8.8" just struck me as funny.
