These are some pictures I took this evening. The two sunset ones were after a rather nasty system of storms moved through my area. The b/w tree one was shortly before the storm hit.

Took those a few days ago... no more than half an hour before one bitch of a storm rolled in, six inches of rain and pea-to-quarter sized hail. :eep: Tore my garden to shit. :(

I've always loved it when it would rain with the sun out, I had put my camera on the porch, and lain down on a sunny part of the lawn and soaked up the rain :) Strangely enough, it wasnt the horrid "omg smells like fish" rain, it was a very sweet and tasty smell. As for the rainbows, a single one is rare around here, let alone one so well defined, but a DOUBLE rainbow? I've never seen one of those before, damn awesome.

ok, the 3x zoom of my digicam doesn't replace a telescope...
anyway it was worth a try ;)

My digital camera basicly isn't worht mentioning... 3.3 megapixels I believe.
However, it turns out that my dad used to have a passion for photographing and even had a part time job in freelance fotography for magazines after he graduated.

He's going to teach me how his old but (but not bad at all) Pentax ME works and then we'll go to a local protected piece of nature and there I'll practise fotography the way they did it 20 years ago. :)

I've already palyed around with the (100% manual and 100% mechanical) zoom and focus and I actually find it quite easy to work with. I like the extra flexibility it gives.
My digicam is waste in comparision to this...

Anyway, dm, I loved that beach! and Beeb, the post-storm tree is magnificent. :)

Mechanical cameras are very fun, is yours priority select, or manual/metered?
Also, be careful with the film wind, i have ruined many rolls of film and not knowing it, by winding the film too fast and ripping the holes.

Nothing artistic, but I went to the Berlin zoo on Saturday and there was this fantastic drunken bear.

This guy, he calls himself Jago, he's German, he's the greatest and most inspiring photographer I have ever seen in my opinion. I really like his style to photograph whatever he wants, however he wants, and still put effort into making it awe-inspiring.

My favorite from him:

I never have any of my own photography to submit :D

Did you glue the poor duck to the floor for that shot ? ;)

We've had some Canadian friends visiting us as well :

I thought that (white) geese were bigger ...
Besides : Donald Duck is a duck and not a goose, and these ducks were related ;)
